Learning ballet 18 years later

Ballet has always been something I'm passionate about. Like most little girls, I took lessons when I was young and I've since grown up loving it despite not practicing it anymore. Dance has found a way into my life one way or another and I love to use it as a form of relaxation and reflection. It's been probably about 18 years since I took my ballet slippers off and I thought it was about time to change that. Not too long ago, I noticed that my local council were putting on adult learning courses. I was curious so I took a look at what was on offer and hey ho, there was ballet. I signed myself ..read more

Valentine's Day is very much becoming their big commercialised holiday that we feed into. No matter how independent you are, or how adamant you are that you don't need acts of appreciation to feel supported and loved, there is no doubting that there is, deep inside, a yearn for something during the holiday.  For me, Valentine's Day shouldn't be the only time you show your appreciation for the ones you love but I do like to play into the idea of the holiday regardless. You can read more about my thoughts on Valentine's Day here. This year, I very much want to make it about my friends. We'r ..read more

Bridgerton: Books vs TV Series
One Unique

Bridgerton has been a well-talked-about topic of conversation the past couple of years and I'm sure it'll be coming back into our conversations when the second season hits Netlix on March 22nd. I definitely loved the TV show back in 2020 and it inspired me, just over a year later, to read the books. The question I ask now, Dear Reader, is how the books differ from the TV adaptation and which is better? A Brief History The ton were first introduced to us by Julia Quinn in the form of a 9 part book series that began publication in 2000. The books followed the journey's of the Bridgerton sibling ..read more

Can anyone else believe that it's 2022 already? I still think 2012 was 5 years ago!  The new year has come with some time for celebration for myself, it's been 7 years since One Unique was founded and I've also turned 21. To say I've been celebrating hard would be an understatement (I'm currently writing this blog post with a hangover lol). One of my new years resolutions is to get back into blogging again. It's been some time, I fell out of love with it during the pandemic because my job was so solely focused around digital marketing that I didn't feel like blogging was a passion anymore ..read more

The Illuminated Light Trail at Blenheim Palace

It's the most wonderful time of the year, no doubt about it, and experiences like the illuminated trail at Blenheim Palace just enhance that feeling. Christmas at Blenheim Palace is a worthwhile trip for friends and family to enjoy. On Sunday 12th December me and my family visited the attraction at this beautiful stately home to make the most of the festive spirit we missed out on last year. Sadly we didn't go into the Palace to see the rooms all decorated like the Nutcracker, but we did spend plenty of time in their festive market, on the fair ground rides and walking around the trial. LIVE REVIEW: Paloma Faith at De Montfort Hall, Leicester

Platinum solo artist, Paloma Faith, visited De Montfort Hall, Leicester, on her The Infinite Things Tour with supporting guest, Josef Salvat. I was kindly invited to head down to the show on Wednesday 20 October and had a wonderful time! Paloma Faith is a British singer/songwriter with a rich history in the industry. Known for her unique, soulful voice and eccentric style, this was a concert I was definitely looking forward to. Her entrance was definitely dramatic, with a large-scale shadow of her singing the introducing lines to Last Night on Earth from her most recent album, Infinite Things ..read more

Sea Girls are a band that I'm familiar with. I've been following their journey for a few years now, from interviewing them on tour at The Cookie in Leicester to watching their latest festival appearances including the main stage at Reading and Leeds. At the moment, you can find the band on a tour of the UK that's almost sold out. Their first stop was the O2 Academy in Leicester - kicking it off with a hometown show. I had the chance to head over to watch them perform on Thursday 7th October.  Supporting was Coach Party, a band from the Isle of White which did a good job at warming the c ..read more

The best products for thinning hair
One Unique

Thinning hair is a problem that I've faced for a few years. I've searched and searched for ways to reduce thinning hair, the best products to use and how to hide it. Personally, I struggle with an under-active thyroid, hair loss is one of the results of this. Buying hair products that are best for hair thinning has cost me a fortune but I think I've finally found the one. This Christmas just passed, I was gifted a haircare range from Pantene that I've been using for no longer than a month. The difference in the quality of my hair is amazing. Before using these products, I was shampooing ..read more
