Our Myton at Home service is designed to enable patients to remain at home and for them and their loved ones to be supported in their final weeks or days of life. The service also helps to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital.

On Friday afternoon, BBC 5 Live presenter Colin Murray was joined by palliative care physician, psychotherapist and trainer Dr Kathryn Mannix to hold an important Question and Answer forum focusing on death and end of life, exploring the frequently disregarded topic and tackling some common misconceptions.

This brand new support group is an informal and friendly space for people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), family members and carers to connect, share experiences and receive valuable information, guidance and support from dedicated volunteers and staff members from the MND Association and The Myton Hospices.

This morning, we opened our new shop at Smithford Way in Coventry having moved after six successful years at our previous location at Hertford Street. Our Retail Team are excited to embark on this new chapter at the new setting.

Linda Heath started working at Myton as a Bank Receptionist at Warwick Myton Hospice in 2016. She then became a permanent member of staff in 2018, monitoring Warwick’s reception every Friday.
Linda commented on her time at Myton:
I like to be amongst people and talk to the visitors. Being on reception, people like to talk to us. It’s a privilege to be able to be play a small role in the comfort Myton can provide and it’s nice to feel like you’re doing something useful and meaningful!

The Myton Hospices has adopted a patient reported outcome measure, the Integrated Palliative Outcome Scale (IPOS), to advance our commitment to providing a holistic approach to patients and their families.
Until recent years hospices have relied on measuring activity and processes, such as the number of beds or numbers of patients seen to demonstrate their outputs.

Many of you will recognise the wonderful Charlotte from her fundraising and donation campaigns for Myton in memory of her dad, Barry.
Barry Buckley was given a two-to-eight-week prognosis with a stage 4 inoperable cancer diagnosis and was admitted to Coventry Myton Hospice.
