Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton’s inaugural Keys of Life Dueling Piano event raised more than $100,000 for patient care and services on Sept. 22 at the Eichelberger Pavilion at Carillon Park in Dayton, Ohio.   More than 275 people attended the Keys of Life Dueling Piano event. This summer, the Pathways of HopeSM Bereavement Counseling center held its 29th annual Camp Pathways, a grief camp for kids. The camp included activities designed to help attendees work through their grief and offered campers the opportunity to swim, fish and canoe.  The success of the camp is due not only to the staff members but also its volunteers. Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton will host its annual 3k/5k Remembrance Walk on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton campus (324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420). Net proceeds benefit patient care and services at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, a not-for-profit, community-based organization. When the care team at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton learned that one of their patients wanted to see his daughter married before he passed, they worked together to plan a beautiful wedding ceremony in the Great Room at the Hospice House.    Mark Kuruzovich, Jr., of New Carlisle, Ohio, was admitted to the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Hospice House in mid-July. Pathways of Hope at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton hosted its 29th annual Camp Pathways, June 24-26, at Camp Joy Outdoor Education Center in Warren County. Camp Pathways is a bereavement camp for youth, ages 7-17, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or significant loved one. When Mark McNeal, facilities specialist at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, arrived for his shift on a hot Thursday morning this past May, the care team at the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton Hospice House asked him to make it snow for one of the patients. The family of Kim Horton had asked the care team if they could help create this special moment for Kim. After experiencing the care of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for her husband, father and stepmother, Gail Pruett wanted to give back to the not-for-profit hospice. So, in 2005 she dedicated a year of her life to planning “Tuxedo Junction” to benefit patients and families of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton with support from friends in the community. Pruett’s love for dancing sparked the idea for the benefit, which raised more than $49,000 for Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
