When people browse your website to see your portfolio, there are two things they want to know: How you photograph families and what other people are saying about you. Testimonials are a huge piece of booking a new client and the only way to get a great testimonial is to treat your clients well throughout the entire process. From the moment a client sends an inquiry on your website contact form, to the final email you send after you’ve delivered products and the gallery has expired, that is the entire experience a testimonial hinges on. Or what if you’re travelling for fun and decide to sneak in a few sessions along your adventure? That is where the art of location scouting comes in.   Location scouting can be a little intimidating if you don’t do it often. The first time a client wants to shoot some ..read more

While I’m extremely thankful that phase is over, that idea is still somehow in the back of our minds… everything must match.     Our clients still need to hear the truth– the clothing you and your family decide to wear needs to coordinate and compliment each other, not completely match. I know I know, it can be cute if you ..read more

what can I say about this incredible family….I’m almost at a loss. I put a post out on LooksLikeFilm back in March about needing a family to model for me for the elevate + grow workshop hosted by Dear Photographer in Oregon this past weekend. Carolyn sent me an email with a few photos of her sweet family and I just knew I needed to photograph them. Seriously, this gorgeous family has such an incredible life, they live on a boat in Santa Cruz and they have the most gorgeous bearded dragon, that yes, they brought to the session. After a 10 hour drive for them we met up at gorgeous cannon beach w ..read more
