Hey hey! First time poster, so apologies if this is the wrong place.
Been collecting keys for a few years now and just got a new shipment in the other night from an antique shop in IN (not where I live, just not sure if thats important). Found a few keys that had these extra notches on the tops of them and was wondering what they were! Google wasn't the most helpful with answers.
My guess is break-away keys but.. homemade, maybe? Or maybe to prevent the keys from being uses? Please let me know, my partner and I are very curious!!

On my basement door, when someone uses an access card to enter the relay triggers the strike, which stays open for 5 seconds. This is normal
The issue is that, when someone closes the door and releases the handle, it tends to pull open slightly, about a centimeter, which is enough to hold the open strike out and prevent it from relocking. Usually nobody notices until the wind blows the door wide open again and we come home to a cold, insecure home.
I was trying to find the right set of google terms that describe this problem so I could get some advice on how to address it, but I have failed ..read more

Had a call today from a NSP that wanted me to repair a storefront door. They asked what my service call was and what my hourly rate is. Then asked if I was insured and had a certificate, which I do. She then asked if I wore a shirt with my business logo on it and when I told her yes she then asked if I would mind just wear a plain shirt because I would be representing their company. I told her that I represent my company and not hers. Told her that I wasn’t interested, thanks but no thanks!

Wondering about the quality level of a CompX National versus a CompX Timberline cabinet lock. We have typically specified a Timberline for cabinet doors and drawers but I have a casework supplier saying the Timberline is built for residential and not commercial and is suggesting CompX National. I can't find supporting info on the website so was wondering what you think?

Doing some clean-up work around the shop, and have been scouring our catalogues and have not come up with a part number or application for this thing! Any ideas?

Sorry no pic.. :-( (I feel weird asking customers to take a pic of their key.. and people are weird like that anyway.
It had a squarish head with the curve in the top.. hope that makes sense. It was def. a yale keyway. It had GS V stamped on it. Customer said they were cut last summer so about 7-9 months ago. Hillman keykrafter said "not in system" which is common for worn or dirty keys. I believe I may have cut it, and I knew it was a yale. Customer says it goes in fine but does not turn unless he really forces it. I brushed them well on the manual machine which we didn't have last year.

Does anyone with experience on medeco locks know if the pins for the original version will work in a biaxial?
Also my friend has a box for repinning medeco locks but the box model is for medeco K-10-1, does anyone know what medeco lock that is designed for? He's asking if I want first dibs on the box.

To me, the simpleton slave to locks, the demonstration of this portable kit is bloody brilliant.
