Happy 5th birthday Norah Jane! You are now officially a whole hand old!  I still remember the first time I held you in my arms.  Norah's birth story here.  It was the most magical experience. The love I felt for you at that moment is indescribable. I didn't want to hand you over to anyone, I just wanted to cuddle you forever. You have been a joy to have in our family ever since. Look at how much you have changed!  You continue to grow grow grow! You are now 41.75" tall and weigh 38lbs. As a comparison, at age 4 Charlo ..read more

Goodbye our sweet boy

On Saturday March 14 we said goodbye to our beloved French Bulldog Harley. He was 12 years old. His death came as a surprise and we are beyond devastated. Words cannot even begin to describe the loss, sadness, and emptiness we feel. He was more than a dog to us, he was our child, a member of our family, and we loved him so very much.  In early February we took him in for his annual check up and shots. The vet was a little concerned about his spine so she took an x-ray. It revealed a large mass on his spleen. He went in a day later for an ultrasound. They believed the mass was most li ..read more

Happy 7th Birthday Charlotte Grace! Wow 7!!! I can't believe how quickly 7 years has gone by. It feels like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms for the very first time. (birth story here). I remember the midwife helping to put you into car seat as we were leaving the birth center, and hoping she was going to give us some instructions on what to do with you! It was an exciting and scary few days, but we quickly figured things out and got into a routine. That routine involved lots of bouncing on an exercise ball, but you do what works! And now fast forward 7 years later. Yo ..read more

Happy happy 4th Birthday Norah!! You are a sweet, intelligent, kind, and curious little girl. You are shy and cautious, especially when meeting new people. But that is ok with me because that usually means extra cuddles when you want to be held or comforted. You have a wonderful imagination and love to play for hours with your toys (especially if big sister plays too!). You are very good at sharing and pretty easy going. You are growing up so fast. I can't believe how quickly four years has flown by. I miss the little baby that you were but love the little girl you have become. I love watchi ..read more

The move is upon us. Actually the move has started. The movers are downstairs packing and I am busily typing away upstairs working on this blog before they kick me out. I had intentions of posting this sooner but pre-packing and pure exhaustion from managing the kiddos has left little time for sitting and working on the blog. So today it is! When I have nothing to do but watch other people pack my stuff. It's a very weird feeling, and an odd few days. Over the past 2 months or so we have been busy trying to squeeze in every single thing possible. We visited our favorite spots a few more times ..read more

A new state to call home

Hello everyone! I has been too long, far too long. I have been enjoying some time off from the pressure of blogging, accomplishing a lot of personal tasks as well as spending extra time with the family. The last 6 months has flown by and in that time a lot has happened! The biggest change is the reason for my post today.  Nothing in life stays the same, especially the military life. It seems as though our time in Philadelphia is coming to an end. We got orders and will be heading back to the West Coast, to Bremerton/Gig Harbor, in Washington state. For those unfamiliar with the area it isn't ..read more
