I talk to a lot of people about my work as a doula. The most frequent response I get is ”Oh, I couldn’t handle giving birth without an epidural, I’m not that strong! I love what you do though!” I’m always a bit confused by this response. First, because doulas and epidurals are never mutually exclusive. Second, because as a doula I never have an opinion on your birth choices or your birth outcome. You call the shots at your birth and I support you and your family, no matter what!
