Show of hands… who’s ready for Christmas?  I don’t mean ready, ready.  I mean ready for the fun to begin?  I am!  I love, love, love Christmas time.  But before we get to Christmas we have to have Thanksgiving.  I don’t really love this holiday.  I love the time.  My kids and I go to the beach with my dad and step-mom and have an absolute blast!  But the holiday?  Nope.  Give me a delicious French Dip Sandwich and I’m good. I bring treats to the beach.  Surprised?  You shouldn’t be.  I bring treats everywhere.  It’s m ..read more

Have you ever heard of Seafoam Candy?  It seems like a beach thing here in Oregon.  Everytime we go to the beach and to the candy store, we buy Seafoam.  It’s delicious and crunchy and, if made right, melts in your mouth. We decided we wanted to give it a try and I’m super glad we did.  It was easy, although a little temperamental. Make sure you have a good candy thermometer!  Making candy is easy but you can’t “wing it” when it comes to how hot to cook it. We made two different batches.  The first batch I poured into a cookie sheet.  It made the seafoam t ..read more

Chocolate, peanut butter and butterscotch makes this dessert one of our favorites! This recipe is similar to the Chex Scotcharoos we made a while back.  We decided to use crispy cereal rather than Chex cereal and we dipped them in the chocolate mixture.  (You can never have too much chocolate.  Am I right?!) We found this recipe over on Oh Sweet Basil. Print Scotcheroos Millionaire Nuggets Ingredients 1 Cup Corn Syrup (Light Karo Syrup) 1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Peanut Butter 5 1/2 Cups Krispy Rice Cereal 6 ounces Milk Chocolate Chips 6 ounces Butterscotch Chips Instructions I ..read more

We made these delicious cookies at Christmas tine but I forgot to post about them.  Oops.  They were so good and everyone loved them.  So why not change the sprinkles and make them for Valentine’s Day.  Right?  I mean really, any excuse to make cookies! These cookies are surprisingly delicious.  And by surprisingly I mean, people who say “what kind of cookies are those, because I don’t like Gingersnaps?” all have said “oh wow, these are really good.” You can finish them off in a couple of different ways, depending on how much white chocolate you want o ..read more

Chips and Dips are one of my weaknesses.  They are comfort food to me and if I let myself, I could eat them everyday for lunch or dinner.  I don’t, of course.  That would be crazy.  But sometimes I wish I could. A co-worker brought this delicious dip to one of our potlucks and I knew it was going to go into my “must have” recipe file.  It’s that good!!! I apologize for my pictures.  We had a work day at work (no students that day) so I grabbed all of the ingredients and brought it all to school.  I threw everything in the crockpot and had it warm up right t ..read more

These just might be my new favorite cookies!  My friend said “these are the best cookies I’ve had in my entire life!”  Seriously!   She said that.  They have a slight crisp around the edges and are super soft in the middle. Just they way I like my cookies. The white chocolate also adds the perfect touch.  We also made these for Valentine’s Day last year.  (And every other holiday!) Ginger cookies seem like the perfect Holiday cookie.  They spices scream Christmas!  These cookies have all the taste of a delicious Ginger Cookie but the softness of ..read more

I’m kind of in love with the magazine Family Fun.  For years it’s been delivered to my door and I love looking through all the crafts and recipes.  As my kids get older I’m finding most of the crafts are for younger kids, but the recipes?  I don’t care how old my kids are.  Fun food is FUN food! In the February/March issue they had these adorable Lucky Charmer Cookies.  I figured my daughter would love to make these.  Because come on, aren’t they cute?!?! I changed it up just a bit.  I didn’t have orange sprinkles so I used orange sanding sugar.  Sprin ..read more
