Kathy’s Corner – Education Is The First Step

Over the last 2-3 months here in Thailand, we seem to have been having an epidemic of occurrences of Male to Female T-people (more often than not referred to as Ladyboys) making news for all the wrong reasons. We’ve had headlines in both the Thai and English press such as:  “Ladyboy funds surgery with stolen money” “Foreigner tourist drugged and robbed by Ladyboy” “Police arrest nude Ladyboy dancers” None of these headlines do any favours for the vast majority of others in the T community, who just want to get on with their daily lives as normally as possible.  Yet, these headlines c ..read more

Dating a Trans Guy: What You Gotta Know Before You Even Send That Grindr Message
Frock Magazine
by Byron James Kimball
3y ago
By and large, I’ve given up on dating apps. I can’t say I regret it, though sometimes I wonder if now, after being on T for about a year, that I look less like pedophile bait if I’ll finally start to attract guys who aren’t on watch lists. If I don’t date, why bother writing an article like this? Well, let’s be honest. I’m willing to bet that at least some of you, if you’re taking time out of your day to read this particular column, are a) single, b) on some kind of dating/hook-up app, whether that be Tinder or Grindr and c) interested in dating someone trans. If you’re interested in a trans p ..read more

Fifty Two Weeks of Murder by Owen Nichols
Frock Magazine
by Sally Bend
3y ago
As murder mysteries or thrillers go, Fifty Two Weeks of Murder was a fascinating read, a novel that breaks all the rules. It all begins with a wealthy socio-political vigilante who has chosen to expose the criminals and hypocrites he feels are most deserving of justice. Each week he will reveal a new target, and the first person to track them down, capture them, and murder them in the most gruesomely innovative manner will be paid 5 million pounds. Not surprisingly, between those interested in it for the cause, those for the payday, and those for the thrill of the kill, there is no shortage of ..read more

Tea and Transition
Frock Magazine

Of all the transgender stories I have come across, Nicola Jane Chase’s may be the most fascinating. Not only is it a story of acceptance and transition, but one of recognition. Here is a woman who does not remember ever questioning her gender identity as a child, not even in a momentary innocent or playful manner. There were no doubts, no questions, and no discomfort with her gender. By all accounts, Neil was a happy child and a well-adjusted young man, travelling the world as a professional DJ and radio announcer. She does not remember what prompted it, but her journey began with crossdresssi ..read more

There is a classic 1953 movie on crossdressing entitled ‘Glen or Glenda’, by American Director Ed Wood. It’s a must see for anyone interested in nineteen fifties crossdressing.  It touches on suicide, psychiatric descriptions of transvestites, the awkwardness of buying female clothes, plus fetishes and perversion. The star is a closet crossdresser who wrestles with the problem of whether to tell his girlfriend that he dresses. It is an Ed Wood classic as it ends happily when the girlfriend willingly hands over her angora jumper to her now liberated crossdressing boyfriend. Ed Wood was wel ..read more

Chicks of a Feather, Frock Together – Kimberly Moore – Where Is She Now?
Frock Magazine
by Nora Simone
3y ago
I caught up with Frock Chick Kimberly Moore (who appeared in the February/March issue of Frock back in 2015) in Washington, DC recently and thought readers would like an update. Our paths crossed virtually at the end of 2016. At that time we both had color and style analyses performed by Dr. Lynn Glassman, the ‘Doctor of Dress’. You can read more about our experience here. Kimberly and I met for dinner on an unseasonably warm February weeknight. Before entering the restaurant, the normally shy Kimberly posed for photos during photography’s golden hour before sunset. &n ..read more
