Diplomat fountain pens are among the best fountain pens money can buy, and lately the German company has been pushing their lovely Aero in the marketplace. I currently keep one of these fountain pens near me, but how does it size up compared to others? I added a video review on YouTube of the Diplomat Aero. You can find it below... First Impressions… The fountain pen comes in a nice gift box that has a cushioned inside and is wrapped in an aluminium enclosure. All through the unboxing, you are greeted by the Diplomat name so you don’t forget who made the pen. It’s a classy gift box worthy of ..read more

Knight's Writing Company

We recently re-stocked our collection of TWSBI fountain pens, and one of the new pens from the Taiwanese company is the SWIPE. This low cost fountain pen is built using the same quality of other TWSBIs. It includes the nib that you may be familiar with on the ECO and also fits International Standard cartridges. The pen comes with a piston converter, a spring plunger converter and a cartridge. All this in one low cost package. But is it any good? See our YouTube video for a quick run down of what to expect. I’ve had a lot of fun putting together videos recently. And my sixth is about the wonderful Platinum 3776 Century. The pen is equipped with a gorgeous 14kt gold nib and offers an enhanced writing experience with the usual surgical precision of a Japanese made fountain pen. Should you use cartridges or converters in your fountain pens? On the face of it it’s a simple choice between the two. But in reality there are several things you need to consider. Perhaps you want to use bottled ink. Perhaps you want to use a larger range of colours rather than the small number your pen manufacturer gives you. Does your pen have an international standard fitting or is it a proprietary fit? Watch our latest video to learn the ins and outs of cartridges and converters… The post Cartridges and Converters appeared first on Knight's Writing Company ..read more

Kaweco’s Liliput – A gorgeous (yet small) fountain pen.

Kaweco is a wonderful fountain pen manufacturer that sometimes slips passed folks who are looking for a new pen. A somewhat low profile German company (you heard of Lamy, but perhaps Kaweco doesn’t quite light up your eyes in the same way), their fountain pens are reliable, extremely neat and imaginative. I decided my fourth video – that’s a milestone – would be all about the Kaweco Liliput. Mostly because I just couldn’t resist starting to use the new copper pen that I had purchased for myself. Hopefully the video is interesting and useful to you. I’ve always loved the Liliput, perhaps more ..read more

We wanted to bring Ferris Wheel Press fountain pen inks into Knight’s Writing Company for a couple of years. It hasn’t been easy to watch from the sidelines as other retailers added these fabulous inks to their stores – but now we also stock the World’s Most Uplifting Fountain Pen Ink. Good things come to those who persevere. So who is Ferris Wheel Press? The company was founded by Deborah Lau-Yu and Raymond Yu in Toronto. With a love for stationary and printing, the intent was to create a lifestyle brand with some nostalgia of carnivals, print shops, cotton candy and a brand where whimsical ..read more

The TWSBI ECO: A First Impression
Knight's Writing Company

We recently received our first order of TWSBI fountain pens from the well known Taiwanese manufacturer. I was interested to try one of these pens and find out why they were so popular within the fountain pen community. I wasn’t disappointed! TWSBI started manufacturing fountain pens after being an OEM manufacturer, named Ta Shin Precision. They spent 50 years manufacturing plastics and metals – anything from lego parts to high end writing instruments. However, around 2015 they started with a new mission. In their own words, it is … to inspire and recapture the romanticism of art and literature ..read more
