Yet another post about Nurtec because my head has hurt every day for at least 61 days and I feel debilitated constantly. But apparently that’s not enough for these fucking insurance companies to approve my Nurtec. I need it, Like really need it. Haven’t had a helpful preventative in years need it. But no. Today I went to pick up the nurtec because walgreens notified my mom it was ready for pickup. When I went to pick it up (i had already stopped by yesterday to provide them with my coupon card so it would begin going through). However they told me the coupon card didn't work, either my insura ..read more

New migraine symptoms and need help

Hi, sorry if this is a long post. But I’ve had migraines on and off for years now usually once a month. Last year I went an entire year without migraines and thought it was over. Well surprise surprise it was not. They came back and went from once a month to once every 2-3 weeks and now I’ve had 2 in the past 3 days. My usual symptoms are some weird vision blur 24-48 hours out with some yawning, then a very strong aura phase where I basically can’t see for 1ish hour then an excruciating headache with nausea for 4-6 hours. I’ve recently started ubrelvy which is definitely taking my 8 or 9 out ..read more

Anyone get flu-like symptoms, rash, fatigue, and/or migraine after being outside in the sun?

Heat isn’t a factor. I just get sick if I’m outside for the day. A full day outside will make it so I feel sick, tired, and sometimes get body aches for a few days. Migraines also happen, but I’m not sure if it’s bc I increase my caffeine intake. submitted by /u/2moms1bun [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Topiramate side effects a month after stopping?

I stopped taking topiramate a month ago and am still having side effects that I think are from the medication. I went to my PCP and had blood tests/urinalysis done which all came back normal. I did have a very bad withdrawal period for about 10 days of pure hell..I thought I was getting better finally, but the last two days I feel like l'm in withdrawal again and it gets really scary for me. The last couple of days the numbness has come back along with the tingling feeling, exhaustion, little to no appetite, nausea, and some other things. Has anyone had a similar experience? How long will thi ..read more

My neurologist wants me to switch to the Mediterranean diet to help with my migraines. I’ve tried so many medications and am finally seeing slight improvement with combination of Botox and Neutec every other day. Has anyone else tried this? What were your results? What are some of your favorite recipes? submitted by /u/WritingFederal5735 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Compared to last year, how’s it going?

I keep track of any time I take a triptan, Motrin , Tylenol , etc… compared to last year , at least on paper, I’ve taken a few less pills this year, BUT it’s been a lot tougher this year. The pain this year is just completely sucking the life out of me. Last year I was at least able to travel and do things. This year I don’t have the energy. I’ve cancelled plans with family/friends 9 times out of 10. I have been more active in the gym which could be helping, but overdoing will make things worse. I’m wondering if Covid/ vaccines have anything to do with it. Tried magnesium citrate , it didn’t ..read more

Right eye tender, right traps/ neck tense? With a bit of nasal congestion. Do any of you have a favored side with your migraines?

I’ve read that Flonase can contribute to migraines after doing some searching on my symptoms on this subreddit. I typically only have 1-2 a month but they seem to be confused with allergies or maybe it’s the allergies causing the migraines as I live in a top 5 city for worst allergies. Dry needling and Botox has helped with the tension but it seems allergies are at play. But some folks say that the migraine actually causes the stuffiness… complex stuff lol submitted by /u/NecessaryWyn [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
