In my opinion all of the elaborate and complex explanations for consciousness are just plain wrong. At the deepest level, isn't the human brain simply simulating or emulating consciousness and emotion? TLDR; the soul and body is like a person and a car I’m not expert on anything but as someone who likes to ponder what it means to be alive and conscious, this is how I’ve been thinking about it. Would love to hear responses. A car is a vessel for transportation for a person. The person starts the car and controls where it goes, how it drives, what turns it makes etc. Without a driver the car is just a machine. The body is like the car and the soul is the driver. To be more precise, I would a book that has a mix of science and human history. The way people evolved over time to think or evolution of consciousness would be great. Im reading sapiens right now and will be finished soon. Im not interested in anything that strays away from science or is religious.
