For my birthday this year, I decided to go on a crazy birthday freebie bender, inspired by my friend Toni from @holagato. Last year, she cashed in on birthday freebies for weeks. I thought it would be fun to spend some of my birthday trying to get as many of these as I could. Please note that in order to grab these bday gifts, you’ll usually have to sign up for each company’s email program. So get ready for spam. You’ll want to sign up for these email programs at least one week prior to your birthday to ensure you can actually get the rewards in time. Here’s where I went: S ..read more

Day-drinking is definitely a MUST when in Vegas for vacation, and brunch is the most socially acceptable way to do it! Here are some of my favorite brunch spots around town that I usually recommend to people when they come to visit. DW Bistro, 6115 S Fort Apache Rd #112, Las Vegas, NV Located in the Southwest area of Las Vegas, DW Bistro is a chic, Caribbean-inspired brunch hotspot that draws a crowd on Saturdays and Sundays. They describe themselves as “Jamaican meets New Mexican.” Some of their more well-known dishes include the jerk fried chicken and waffles, eggs benedict and Ne ..read more

Where to find the best cheap eats in Vegas

There are a lot of awesome cheap eats to be found in Vegas. However, you will usually have to venture off the Strip to find them Here are my top spots:   1. Le Pho DOWNTOWN – 353 E Bonneville Ave #115, Las Vegas, NV 89101 (Lunch: $20) This place is sit down, but it’s pretty cheap so I’m putting it on the list. Come here for pho dipped sandwiches (brisket sandwich that you dunk into pho broth) and steaming bowls of peppery pho. It’s tamed down enough for white people, but the Asians can still hang. Definitely get the amazing fried egg rolls and the soft Le Pho roll with grilled five spic ..read more

I recently reached 20K followers on Instagram–woot woot! Thanks to Inna Gadda di Pizza at Downtown’s Pawn Plaza for helping me celebrate the occasion. After posting my 20K photo I received a few inquiries from followers and friends asking how I built my Instagram brand. I thought–if people are interested in knowing how to do this, why not write a blog post? Here are my tips: 1. It’s all in the name I was very lucky to land such a coveted username. I chose @vegasdining because when I lived in Maryland, @dcdining was a username with a huge following. As soon I moved to Las Vegas, I tried t ..read more

Move over, rainbow bagels. Step aside, funfetti pancakes. Mason Salisbury is making rainbow coffee, and you can get it at Sambalatte in Las Vegas. Mason started catching some major buzz recently with images on his Instagram of rainbow lattes. I’ve been following him for a while and have always admired his images. However, his posts have been getting a little more… colorful lately. Check out his Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/ibrewcoffee/.  His “rainbow coffee” was featured in Business Insider and the Huffington Post, so you know the hype level is real. We won the golden taco!

A week ago, I won a golden taco along with my team of three Vegas foodies. What’s a golden taco, you might ask? Well allow me to explain. A couple of weeks ago, Alex from the Refined Agency emailed me saying she was organizing a foodie photo battle at El Dorado Cantina with a bunch of Instagram influencers from L.A. I would be leading a team, and so would my friend @VegasFoodBaron who runs another Vegas foodie Instagram. There would be three L.A. teams. I wasn’t quite sure what it would be like, but it sounded fun, so I said yes! The team I chose was Suzy (@Happytummy_702), Terri (@SavorSinCi ..read more

Omakase dining at Kame

This past Saturday, Nelson Q. held a foodie event at Kame in Summerlin. Owned by Chef Eric, it’s a super-secret omakase restaurant right next door to Yummy Grill & Sushi. No signage means more fun, right?   Nelson and Chef Eric. Nelson says that Chef Eric sources some of the freshest fish available and the quality is comparable to what you would find in the top sushi restaurants on the Strip. Having tried a selection of Eric’s creations, I can definitely say that it was super fresh. After all, you can’t get more fresh than LIVE seafood! First, we tried a bunch of rolls that Chef ..read more

Gorgeous Patio Dining at Salute

In Las Vegas, April is patio dining season. There is no better time to enjoy dining and drinking al fresco than now (although this weekend’s weather was an exception!) I was recently invited to take photos of Salute, located at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. It’s definitely one of the more refined restaurants at the property.  Inside, it has almost an open kitchen feel, where chefs are doing their thing behind marble counters. Outside, there is a gorgeous patio with plenty of seating. There is a great view of fountains and greenery. Burrata with proscuitto The first dish ..read more

Mini review: Moko Ramen Bar
Vegas Dining

A few weeks ago, my friend Mimi organized an insta meet at Moko Ramen Bar, which is located in the Summerlin area. Formerly Moko Tapas Bar, it’s run by Ryan Chang. I normally don’t like Japanese food that is a fusion of other cuisines (in this case, Korean) but the food at Moko Ramen Bar is an exception. By the way, Ryan was very personable throughout our visit and even helped us with a group photo when we were getting ready to leave. For an appetizer, we all tried the kimchi pork belly bao. I thought the flavors balanced each other out very well and particularly enjoyed the melt-in-your-mout ..read more

Arawan Thai Review

My friend Cici and I went to Arawan Thai after seeing photos all over Instagram of the restaurant’s beautifully latticed Pad Thai and Creme Brulee dishes, and their epic “pour over” desserts. Egg Papaya Salad at Arawan Thai. The restaurant is located in the same (sketchy) plaza as the iconic Lotus of Siam…which means it faces steep competition. The strip mall is also home to Komol Thai, making it a little hotspot of Thai restaurants. Spicy Mint with runny egg It may look a little questionable on the outside, but inside, Arawan Thai is absolutely gorgeous with a romantic vibe,  nontra ..read more
