Been a busy week. And weather wise - I guess you could call it interesting.  One day it was sunny and almost 80 - the next WINDY and 57 as the high. Today the wind has let up and supposed to be around 60. Easter is over so those decorations put away and Spring table runner out. Also flower suncatchers in kitchen window.  We've managed to get a couple of walks in the wetlands. And saw a little drama out there. A nice pond that we always stop at. That day the Canadian Geese were there along with a couple of coots and a mallard duck. Notice the posture of the geese. A couple of mi ..read more

Last couple of weeks of March

Mostly I haven't written because I've been tired. No reason just feeling lazy. Been doing a lot of reading. I like Johnathon Kellerman books so have gone back to the beginning of the Alex Delaware series and reading them. He started writing them in the late 1980's. So much has changed since then - the main character spends a lot of time hunting for pay phones. doing research in the library - no real use of computer databases' then.  I've been walking in The Wetlands a few times since last blog. The warmer weather has really brought out the green out  there. Looking so much pret ..read more

Another March day here in Vegas. The wind is roaring again and it is cold out. Winds gusts up to 60. Our awnings are making noises, banging around. Hope they hold this time.  Supposed to be some rain and snow in mountains during day and winds until tomorrow morning. Ugh. Did have one kind of pretty sunset a couple of days ago. Got to visit with our son who lives in Florida, he was here a couple of days for business so we got in a nice visit. Been several years since we've seen him. And this morning I got a phone call from son who lives here. He asked if we were going to be home as h ..read more

On Wednesday Bill saw the retina eye doctor for his shot. Some good news. Doctor says the eye has improved some. And he doesn't get the next shot until nine weeks from now.  Lots better than every five weeks. Seems like the new drug is helping. Fingers crossed.  And that evening we saw the first bunny in our yard since THE FLOOD. then I saw one the next morning too. (Still haven't had any one from management come to check under the house.) Took a short walk in the wetlands and got some interesting information. When we left for Mazatlan I had logged in 127 miles of walking there. Had ..read more

Bill and I took a walk

Saturday got Bill out to take a short walk in the Wetlands. My first time since we got back. Happy to say that we saw two bunnies, a jack rabbit (no picture, he was too fast) and a pair of geese and a bird I don't recognize. [The most bunnies I've seen on one walk since the flood.]I also got my new straps for my Fitbit so good to go recording steps. The first bunny we saw. He just sat still and pretended he wasn't there. Saw the jack rabbit right after this one, but he was quick to run. Went on to the Boardwalk Pond and a pair of Canadian Geese were there. Such majestic looking birds. The clos ..read more

Just some pictures from our last few days in Mazatlan. It was another nice day so we took an Uber to Centro. First stop was the Central Market. There was a cruise ship in town so didn't spend much time there. We did stop to visit with Lana, she owns a clothing shop in the market. First time we've seen her this year. Over the years we've become good friends.  Back outside walking around the Cathedral.  This is the side we watched them painting a couple of posts ago. Looks really nice.  One of the side doors. So intricate carved wood.  This part needs a little TLC. Wo ..read more

Our 6th day home and they have been unusual days in every way. But to regress. The first three pictures are from my last walk in the Wetlands before we took the trip. My fellow walkers are dressed for a winter walk. I wear shorts and a t-shirt and light weight long sleeved shirt. Guess I'm weird, but I am almost always hot.  The mountains with a little snow on them, this was middle of January.  A bird we hadn't seen before, no idea what he is.  So we are home now. The weather for the next few days will be kind of normal or a little above the normal of 64. The last few days hav ..read more

Another visit to La Martina Restaurant.

I'm cheating today and writing about Mazatlan trip. Lots of pictures. We took what was probably our last trip to La Martina Restaurant the other day. Even with the detour because of the bridge work over the 15D it was only 20 miles. The ride was uneventful and the day was perfect. Sunny but not too hot. Blue sky. As we turned into the parking area we noticed all the corn growing. It is getting big, some ears are starting to form. Will they use it for tortillas.  This bougainvillea gets bigger and bigger. It is one plant with two different colors of bloom.  The veranda in front of ..read more

Yes it is nice to be home. I still have some pictures from Mazatlan to write about but will wait a few days to do that. Still busy getting caught up on every thing from trip and getting home. There was an absolutely beautiful sunset this morning but I didn't get a picture of it. Weather here is strange for this time of year. In low 40 a night but up into high 60's during day. Will take it while it lasts.  So Any Way ... The day before we left Mazatlan we went out to breakfast and had thought we might go some where else for a bit. But changed our minds and went back to hotel to start ..read more

We are home. Son picked us up and we went out to dinner. Every thing at house is okay and working fine. Today I'm  putting in a big WalMart delivery order and going to Albertsons for produce and Denny's for breakfast and that is about it.  Will slowly catch up on trip and trip home.  ..read more
