Preparing Your Body For Pregnancy (part 1.)
Life with Elizabeth Rose

I am so incredibly excited that my partner and I are going to be trying for bub number 2 in a matter of months! I love being a mother and I can’t wait to experience pregnancy again (minus the morning sickness). Just like my first pregnancy, I’m putting a lot of conscious effort into preparing my body for its most important role, as I want to give my baby the best start to life….and this begins in the womb. Good gut health is imperative for making healthy babies and for optimal health in general, and although I’ve already done a lot of ground work on my gut and am a healthy person, I still have ..read more

Helping Your Baby Sleep
Life with Elizabeth Rose

When Chloe turned 9 months old, I reached my threshold of sleepless nights. I’d hit breaking point and knew that something needed to be done to help Chloe sleep through the night. No more ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’, I was at the end of my tether, beyond exhausted, and looking at life through bleary-tired-eyes. And If I was tired, it most certainly meant my little angel was tired too. Enough was enough, this mama was on a mission. Before I continue, I must preface this post with saying that every-baby-is-different and so is every mother. What has worked for me may or may not work for you and your bab ..read more

The First 6 Months Of Motherhood

As I begin writing this post, I almost can’t believe how quickly time has flown by. I’ve definitely been in the mama ‘vault’! And what a whirlwind of sweet joy, pure exhaustion, overwhelming love and a bucket load of ‘firsts’ these 6 months of motherhood have been. I honestly feel (hand on my heart) that I’ve found my calling in life. I absolutely adore being a mother, and feel blessed and grateful every day for having my beautiful daughter in my life. It truly has been the most incredible, rewarding and heart-expanding experience. Gav and I are still in awe with the fact we’re now parents! It ..read more

My Birth Experience
Life with Elizabeth Rose

I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl 11 weeks ago, and WOW, what an incredible, heart-expanding journey it has been. I imagined what the birth and early weeks of motherhood would look and feel like, but oh boy, has it been so much more. On the 7th of April at approximately 10.30pm, I went into a spontaneous labour. I knew it was coming as I’d been having pre-labour signs for 4 days prior that even included a trip to the Family Birth Centre to check if my waters had broken – turns out it was just my ‘show’, which is a strong sign labour isn’t far away! In the afternoon I had asked my siste ..read more

The Third Trimester Of Pregnancy

As I prepare to make a start on the third instalment of my pregnancy series (you can start at the beginning here), I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and sitting on a swissball with my legs apart wide enough to let my big belly hang comfortably. I’m at the stage where sitting has even become uncomfortable as I can feel the weight of my belly squishing against my legs; and oh lordy – who would’ve thought that simply standing would become so exhausting!! Ah, the joys of being heavily pregnant. All in all though I must confess to feeling pretty good, and my heart is full to the brim with happiness ..read more

The First Trimester of Pregnancy

I’ve been really excited about writing this first instalment of my pregnancy series…the first trimester of pregnancy! It feels like it wasn’t that long ago I was blogging about the heartache of my miscarriage. I truly feel so blessed that I fell pregnant again after my next cycle following the miscarriage. I know there’s so many women who struggle to fall pregnant again so quickly; have repeat miscarriages and fertility issues (my heart goes out to you), so I really am full to the brim with feel-it-in-my-bones gratitude. My little soul really wanted to come into this world, and I couldn’t be ..read more
