My boy is 6 years old and he is very healthy and active. About 4 years ago he was in a swings wih his brother and both if them fell off on the grass. He went pale and collapsed in my arms, after few seconds he was fine. 2 years ago very dame happened when my husband took them for a walk. He huged his brother and lost balance. Hi everyone, Yesterday, after a week of waiting on NIPT results due to an enlarged NT scan, we received the call that we are having a little boy and that he has Down Syndrome. This is our first child and I am 16 weeks pregnant, 30 years old. We are devastated; just completely shattered. My husband and I spent yesterday bawling in each other's arms. Right now we're living in Germany and we are moving back to the US in four weeks. I am currently 23 weeks with my daughter. NIPT shows 90 PPV for Trisomy21. She also has an AV Canal Defect that will require surgery, hopefully between 3 and 6 months. I'm currently getting monthly growth ultrasounds to look for restricted growth. I'm also having monthly fetal echos. I realize that we could discover more issues between now and my due date but I'm having a hard time finding studies on the correlation, if there is one, between DS and growth restriction. Does anyone have any resources? Or any experience they can share? It does seem that a lot of women are induced early because of ..read more

EmC has started the path for braces. She is 9 and had 2 teeth extracted this morning to make room for some misguided K9s. Her tongue, while doesn't pertrude, still rest on he teeth that has caused her front teeth to move forward. The next few months will be fun as we go through palette expanders and braces.
