Yesterday on Easter Sunday God surprised us with a little reminder that spring is not here yet---a mix of rain, sleet and snow and slick roads greeted us. Upon arriving back home from a noon brunch I took the opportunity to have a day of rest---several times during the day I thought about doing some work and after a brief 15 minutes decided that the rest could wait---did some reading, watched a movie, took a nap---so today will be a busy day. I thought I would share with you my most recent project.....Our State Line rug Hookers guild brought Susan Fellers to do a workshop with our guild.  I have been pondering doing a sea turtle for some time---husband is a scuba diver. I drew this turtle swimming and brought it to the workshop---I knew that I wanted the coloration to be browns and aquas and with Susan's encouragement and her saying "is it believable"  this is what is happening... February took me to Waukesha Wisconsin to kick off 2017  and then to Athens, Georgia for two workshops.  I flew to both of these workshops due to being afraid to plan a road trip in February---would have worked out due to mild February.  The end of February was the Lenexa hook-in---always a great day.  Then I was off to Springfield Mo and then to New Braunfels Tx.  May took me back to Georgia to Peachtree City and Cummings.  Wednesday I am leaving for Lancaster PA...then have a little break until heading back to Texas to Tyler.  Waukesha WA  Athen ..read more

Well here we are---starting a new year!  I am back from Mexico and getting ready for three workshops---the first in Wisconsin and the next two in Athens Georgia.  I have been in the dye pots and organizing my studio for the last two days---I love getting back into my groove---the impending ice storm gave me a good reason to stay inside---fortunately it was not as bad as expected! Well almost a month has gone by and Christmas is almost here.  Christmas started early at our our house this year as we had our family Christmas celebration Dec. 7- 11 when Chelsea, Noah and Baxter arrived---the only time their work schedules permitted. The days are going by so quickly---as an impatient patient I am dealing with my hands not healing as fast as I would  like---surgery went well and  I no longer have the burning pain that wakes me up at night but it is taking time to rebuild the muscle that was lost---lots of exercising of my hands---tried hooking tonite but didn't last long.   I am doing alot of walking and yoga that does not put pressure on my palms...I am anxious to get back into the dye pots--next week!!!
