Basic Information I love Turkey and I have been planning on visiting the area for quite some time. Our previous visit to this country was in December/January and originally we were visiting black sea region during this period. However visiting in Winter is not very recommended due to the huge amount of snow which falls in the area. Early spring is also not recommended due to the landslides following the rainfall. The best time to visit the Black Sea region (Trabzon and Rize provinces) is during late Spring and Summer. This region as known as the green heart of Turkey and in summer people c ..read more

This was the main reason why we visited Georgia – its glorious and untouched mountains. Georgia as a country consists mainly of mountains and hills and the most famous and accessible mountains lie some 3 hours north of the capital. Where to stay and for how long There are two main tourist hubs in the Kazbegi mountains; Gudauri which lies 2hrs north of Tbilisi and Stepantsminda which lies 1hr further north bordering Russia. We opted for Stepantsminda; mainly because accommodation is cheaper and it was closer to the places we wanted to visit. We also visited Gudauri and I am so gl ..read more

The airport is quite small and mainly connects the Georgian capital to the main cities in the middle east, with some seasonal flights to European cities. When you look for information on Georgia online, most probably you will stumble on websites that give information on the American state instead of Georgia as a country. So be careful when doing your research. Tip: I suggest you s ..read more

Choosing an airline from another when catching multiple flights depends on multiple factors; timing, price, airline reputation, past experience, airport facilities and also when possible visiting the city you are stopping in. Whenever we stop at Istanbul airport we love visiting the city and sometimes increase our time between a flight and the next one (especially now that we are travelling with our daughter) to get a good rest and visit a new area in the city. We have just visited Istanbul for our 4th layover. Check out my first taste of Istanbul here. This was the first long layover in ..read more

The Tatras National park extends to Northern Slovakia, which we had visited some years ago. You can read more about the Slovak Tatras National Park here. The mountainous part of Poland is confined to a rather small area when compared to the size of the country, so you can imagine how crowded it can get. Zakopane is the main town in th ..read more
