Stained Glass Hello again, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about some important decisions I am making. Stained Glass has always been a passion and love which gradually developed from my love of drawing and painting. I have always adored churches and buildings with coloured light and the mix of natural scenes and seascapes captured me. In essence this led me to become a stained glass maker. It was at my Art degree at Roehampton, University of Surrey where I found two new skills I wished to pursue, printmaking and stained glass. Leaving Roehampton I was guided by my tutor Amal ..read more

Summer/Autumn Magic I am writing this morning sitting here looking out onto the sunlit corn which is growing high in my garden. The blueberries are over and now the blackberries hang in juicy drops waiting to be picked. This last year has been full of great commissions and adventures.  I have barely had the time to keep up with my blog so have let go of it a bit in order to prioritise work commitments. As usual I have held small classes at my private studio in Trowbridge near the town centre and will continue to teach into 2024. I love teaching those shiny bright students and watch them m ..read more

Fall back, Spring forward As I sit here to write about the past months I realize they have flown by in the wink of an eye.  The clocks went back last weekend here in England and we are truly on our way to winter now being the beginning of November. My friends in Quebec, Canada where I lived for many years are only four hours difference instead of the usual five hours. This will change in a few weeks when their clocks ‘fall back’. I am happy that I  made the long awaited journey to see friends and family in Quebec, so a huge thank you to those dear and fabulous people. I am always hap ..read more

Happy New Year 2022 to everyone !! The past year has been so busy work wise making and creating new designs, commissions of stained glass locally and restoring a large west window in a church in Devon. I moved house during covid which was quite a feat in itself and on further inspection the ‘workshop’ space at the bottom of my very long 54 metre garden sadly had to be demolished. I have had a wood cabin built which serves me well for my stained glass work ! Courses I have ever growing hope that we will all be adventuring out of the restrictions of covid19 this year. All our plans have l ..read more

Challenges and Gratefulness It has been a challenging last year in many ways for us all. Hope is on the horizon so that in the next few months we should all see a better pathway as Covid 19 loosens it’s grip. Stained Glass commissions continue to be designed and made here in the studio. Private commissions and also repairs to existing glazing in between other works. I have several new commissions, one in Wimbledon, London and a transom window in a fabulous Edwardian doorway which is local to where I work. Currently I am happily painting and staining the stained glass ‘Sunrise’ window for Hasli ..read more

What a mysterious and surprising summer I have had at the studio in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. It was something of a much slower pace than I have been used to working, this was to the past months, the unrest of covid19 and it’s effect on so many businesses including my own. But happy to say I have continued throughout and in the past two months I have never seen my inbox look so busy ! Wonderful people who need their doors repaired or new commissions designed and I can be of service again fully and with a whole heart. Autumn is coming and the vegetables in the garden are overflowing their woody ed ..read more

The past three months have been innovative, adventurous and inspiring. I travelled to the South shore of Montreal to stay and work. This January I taught a class at Studio du Verre in the copper foil method. My class of seven students were lively and intrigued they achieved a lovely colourful panel each of approx 12” x 9”. It was wonderful teaching in Quebec and therefore in Quebecois and English, we had fun. I am happy to say I am back in England and have an assortment of commissions and projects in process. Including a new design, a continued project and classes and open days. There will be ..read more

The Autumn leaves are gently falling and piling up in the corners everywhere for scurrying animals to hide in or take as extra bedding for the winter days. I have completed my time here at Woolley grange farm studios, it has been six years and it has flown by with so many busy days, fun students sessions, blood, sweat and tears. I have loved every minute of it!! Angle of Light Stained Glass will continue once I have moved completely and landed in Quebec, Canada where I once had a studio and will set up again. It is a very exciting time, all my glass and tools have been packed and sent to the s ..read more

How the winter flew here at the studio on Woolley grange farm! I have completed a brand new work, a large stained glass window in memory of Laurence Glye Hodson and his wife Marjorie Elizabeth Hodson. It is for the beautiful chapel of St Peter’s, Petersham, Surrey. It took around four and a half months to complete the new work and the opening night was filled with warmth and joy. It is so lovely after months of deliberating and working hard to achieve exactly the desired effects that the stained glass can give that it is received with such joy. Suszie Vignobles initially drew out the design be ..read more
