In case you miss my last blog post, I decided my goal for this year is to add 24 or fewer items to my wardrobe. My plan is to pop back in here with monthly updates and share any new items I’ve added. I read back through my wardrobe goals for 2023, and it was a bit sobering for me to read that I set a very similar goal for last year and failed miserably. I suspect I got derailed by start up of a very enticing Sézane partnership. However I am very grateful for that opportunity. It allowed me to boost my professional wardrobe and get acquainted with a very lovely brand, whose knits I'll forever ..read more

*Surprise!* Hi, it's me, here with a blog post!! I am very much enjoying selling real estate in Portland, and that keeps me quite busy, but I wanted to share a closet challenge I am doing for 2024. It's been more than a year since I took a step away from blogging and content creation, and that has given me space and perspective on the way I buy and add clothes to my closet. 2023 was all about learning to dress for a new, professional lifestyle, and most days I enjoyed the challenge. Getting dressed is infinitely more enjoyable now that it's not tied to creating content or promoting brands/cl ..read more

Hello, my friends, long long time, no talk. As you probably guessed, I’ve been busy with my new life in real estate, and it has been more wonderful than I could have imagined. But it is not without its challenges either, building up a book of business takes time and it is a true hustle. But I am very thankful to be on a great team and surrounded by people who are generous with their knowledge and insights. I’ve been very impressed with the brokerage I joined, and the caliber of the training and expertise offered there. I could go on and on about real estate, I literally dream about it now, b ..read more

What I Wore in December

Hello! Wow, a little bit of time has transpired since my last outfit roundup. My life has changed pretty significantly in the past few months. In October, after passing the Oregon and National real estate exams, I got my license transferred to my brokerage, and have hit the ground running on building and growing a real estate business. I joined a great team, got to co-list a property right away, have been doing open houses most weekends, and am enjoying taking my buyers to look at homes all over Portland. I can't believe I get to say this, but I love every aspect of this business so far. It's ..read more

Every year, December feels like the fastest month. We all seem to look forward to this time of year, but POOF! It zips by so fast. The season passes even more quickly when we are extra busy. So, I hope this blog post saves you some time. I'm sharing three handy holiday gift guides to the store that seems to have everything - Dick's Sporting Goods. Our family recently went to Dick's and knocked out a TON of our Christmas shopping. Yes, we took the kids, because I am the type that likes to employ my kids' help for Christmas gifts. I like to get a gauge for what they actually like, and what act ..read more

Hello, happy holidays! Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Native American Heritage Day. I hope your week is full of wonderful things! We have hearts and bellies full this week, and I am not mad about it at all. I feel like I am always playing catch up with these posts lately; I think I underestimated how busy my time would be once I started my new gig. But I love every minute of it! It's been so life-giving! I do find myself thinking about clothing considerably less and it is very refreshing. Less overthinking what I wear means getting dressed is substantially easier, but I do feel like my outfits ..read more

Hi all! I'm still here! I've fully stepped into my new role as a real estate agent in Portland, and I love it. But gosh, it's keeping me busy, so much learning/onboarding going on. It's all incredibly interesting and fun to me; I feel very fortunate to be able to take a professional pivot like this. But I know you guys are here for the outfits, so let's get to it! As the title says, this post includes a mix of outfits, and I am excited to finally start sharing some more business casual looks with you guys, including The Pair of Pants. I'm keeping myself honest by sharing this photo. I don't ..read more

What I Wore: Incorporating “Third Pieces” + the Jacket Everyone Asked About
Seasons Salt

The cold weather has returned this week and it almost feels like we skipped over fall and went straight to winter! My default in this type of weather is often to wear jeans and a sweater, so I have been looking for ways to add a 'third piece' to make my outfits a little bit more fun and interesting. Here is a look at what I've been wearing: I am always in search of semi-frilly white shirts. This style is a staple in my wardrobe. I recently sold the one in my closet because it wasn't working for me anymore (too short to tuck in!) and I was delighted to find this one a few months later. One c ..read more

What I Wore: Fake Fall Edition
Seasons Salt

It's been a very sunny and warm fall around here, and it's a little bit... weird. I honestly don't know what to wear. Now I know what people in other parts of the country mean when they say 'fake fall.' I see things like pumpkins at the grocery store, and pumpkin-spice flavored fill-in-the-blank everywhere else, but it feels incongruous because it's so warm out. Now, I understand that feeling of momentary confusion people experience when they look at real time pictures of friends and family in other locations who are wearing coats. This extended warm, dry weather is extremely unusual for Ore ..read more
