It’s Probably You by Jayne Denker
Series: Willow Cove #2
Subgenre: contemporary romance
Release date: 3 Jan 2024
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Australia
Format: ebook and print
Length: 320 pages
RRP: $9.99 (ebook); $32.99 (print)
This is published as Hedging Your Bets in the US, which mystifies me. It’s bad enough that covers often change from country to country, but changing the title is confusing. Anyway.
The Rom-Com Agenda is Willow Cove #1 and sounds terrific, introducing some of the characters. I haven’t read it, but I got the gist of the Willow Cove gang.

Chicago Rebels hockey player Dex O’Malley has been a naughty boy … again.
Only his latest stunt isn’t quite like when he was caught with his pants down at a nightclub or was cited for drag-racing on Lake Shore Drive or even that time he said a few critical things about his teammates on a hockey podcast. Oops. This time, Dex is in real trouble, the kind that could get him kicked off the team and out of the league. And that cannot happ ..read more

Two words starting with ‘l’—love and loss
Easter can be a time for reflection for many people and cultures. In the last few months, we’ve lost a precious family member. Brenda was in her eighties, ill, but clear-eyed that she wanted to be independent until the very last moment. She managed that, arguing she just had time to light up a fag as the ambulance was approaching. Brenda’s special skill was making everyone she talked to feel that she was fascinated by what you had to say. I miss a gazillion things about her and find myself starting to ask her about the characters in my next plot.

I loved Liz Fielding’s romances; I’ve read them for years. IMHO one of her most beautiful romances is Redeemed by Her Midsummer Kiss from 2022. It’s drenched in sunshine, set in a beautiful garden, and richly romantic. When she branched into cosy crime, I was sure she’d be fabulous in this new genre. And she is—read on.

The co-worker from hell has arrived. He seems to think everything should revolve around him and his research. His needs are not on top of my list, even if he has come from a highly regarded university in America.
I know these waters and the sea lions who call it home. I will protect them like I protect my two children. What I don’t expect is how Ethan protects us when the past comes calling.
Now I see him in a whole new light, and that could be dangerous…especi ..read more

Thanks to ARRA for this opportunity to share my writing experience.
Have you ever met the perfect person?
I don’t mean a romantic partner. I’m talking about that emotionally well-adjusted, happy, attractive, sensible, not conceited, popular person; who always says the right things. Perhaps you are one. I’m most certainly not, but Kelly, who I worked with many moons ago, was, and she left me in awe.
Have you ever been gonging?
For relief of tension and stress, you lay in a sixteen-sided cone featuring celestial skies and tune into the vibrational harmonic tones of the Gong’s resonance. My girlf ..read more
