The MACCS program at Knox Theological Seminary provided me with the content and confidence to step seamlessly into my new roles this fall as a professor of Rhetoric at Patrick Henry College, and as Academic Dean and teacher of high school Great Books at Loudoun Classical School. My MACCS degree from Knox proved the perfect capstone to my own learning, and far beyond that, the perfect preparation for what the Lord had planned for me in my new responsibilities. Halloween or Reformation Day? What are we supposed to make of Halloween? I don’t think anyone really knows. Somehow, bizarrely, it has turned into a socially acceptable, culturally-embraced evening for children to dress up as ghosts, ninjas, princesses or athletes and approach total strangers’ houses under the cover of darkness asking them for candy.
