Shapeshifters - Living With Dissociation
819 FOLLOWERS
Shapeshifters is about my very particular perspective on Dissociation Identity Disorder, also known as Multiple Personality Disorder. I am just so damn tired of people who are afraid to know anything about these conditions assuming what it is and then acting on those false beliefs. D. I. D is not Schizophrenia; it is a condition in which one consciousness is divided to survive horrific trauma.

From Emails From Scheherazad
“Hijab Scene # 7”
No, I’m not bald under the scarf
No, I’m not from that country
where women can’t drive cars

Off your assumptions
They’re going to blow you away

I am the woman with the black black skin
I am the laughing woman with the black black face
I am living in the cellars and in every crowded place
I am toiling just to eat
In the cold and in the heat
And I laugh
I am the laughing woman who’s forgotten how to weep
I am the laughing woman who’s afraid to go to sleep ..read more
