Rabid Reads has been a labour of love for almost eight years now, but like all good things, it too must come to an end. Originally, I had planned on going out with a bang which unfortunately didn’t happen, so instead I’m going to sneak away quietly. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of my loyal followers for sticking with me through this journey—whether you’ve been here since day one, or just stumbled across my humble abode yesterday—I truly appreciate every single one of you. You’ve pushed me to grow this blog into what it is today with your enthusiastic comments, requests for ..read more

Bookfessional: One More Reason I’ll Never Stop Rereading . . .
Rabid Reads – Speculative Fiction Book Reviews

On second thought . . . I know I’ve talked about rereads before, about how revisiting a favorite story is an excellent way to keep a book funk at bay and how (for me) sometimes rereading is necessary b/c my memory sucks and series can drag out for many, many years, but another reason I’ll always be #teamreread is the new perspective you gain after you’ve survived the initial roller coaster. Book bff has been lamenting the fact that I haven’t read OATHBRINGER for months now, and between her an another friend’s harassment gentle chiding, I decided to just go for it, so I’ve been rereading Brando ..read more

Excerpt                Looking forward to seeing Jake there, Sarandon climbed into the Suburban and took off. This might be even more fun than he had planned.                Sarandon headed into the wilderness, and after a couple of hours, he finally reached the Elk Horn cabin. He parked, got out, and stretched. Taking a deep breath of the pines and Douglas firs, he embraced the peace and quiet, the sound of a river flowing nearby, birds twitt ..read more

Bookfessional: Changing Narrators Mid-Series, Ugh.
Rabid Reads – Speculative Fiction Book Reviews

Bookfessional: Change is BAD I realized last year that my auditory ADD (yes, that’s a real thing) didn’t prevent me from listening to audiobooks entirely, I just needed a really, really good narrator telling a really, really good story. That’s all. No big. *snorts* But I enjoyed the series that taught me this lesson (Chuck Wendig’s AFTERMATH) enough that I was willing to put in the effort of finding similarly good series with good narrators. I knew it wouldn’t be easy . . . I knew there would be disappointments . . . BUT. I didn’t know that after putting forth all that effort, after finding th ..read more

1. Human, Day Reaper, or vampire—if you lived in the NIGHT BLOOD universe, which would you choose? Day Reaper, hands down! In whatever universe I create, I would most definitely want to be at the top of the food chain if given the choice, and in the Night Blood series, being a Day Reaper is certainly the highest you can go. 2. New York City seems like the perfect setting for an army of the Damned uprising; how did you use that to your advantage?
