Hey guys, I hope you’re all well! Im looking for some advice/opinions/previous experiences to get some guidance if possible. I’ve been travelling Thailand, Laos and Vietnam for 3 months with some mates, throughout this time I felt myself needing my own space pretty frequently as I found being with the same people all the time quite restricting in terms of my own personal development and also just quite draining. I’ve had social anxiety and depressive episodes over the last 5 years, so during this trip I really want to push myself to meet new people and form connections. I’ve found that travel ..read more

Exhaustion

Im about 2.5 weeks into my trip in Japan and it seems to be catching up to me. I slept for 9 hours last night, and I can’t seem to walk for more than 3 hours without needing a break. Human bodies need rest, fair enough. But I’m also a bit surprised at how slowly my 25M body seems to be adapting to the ambulatory life. Does anyone have any advice besides sleep and coffee? Maybe you could share your own timeline of adapting to the physical stresses of travel? submitted by /u/Macintosh2006 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was looking at the luggage information for the night train from Copenhagen to Berlin, and it appears differently on their website different pages. I would imagine a large luggage should be allowed for such long distance trip but just want to make sure. Thank you. Their T&C page https://www.snalltaget.se/en/terms-and-conditions 4.1 Hand luggage The passenger has the right to bring one item, maximum dimensions 55x40x23 cm and one item, maximum dimensions 80x50x35 cm and a small personal item, for example a purse. Looking to go to Amsterdam in July, but I've heard housing can be really expensive, especially around that time. Would I be better off just staying in a nearby city and transiting into Amsterdam? Or is this a stupid idea that won't be worth the money I save? submitted by /u/soros-bot4891 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

NZ Working Holiday Question

I’m considering a NZ WHV next year (UK citizen) and wondered how the new 36 months works. I’ve tried looking online but can’t find an exact answer this question: can you take out separate WHVs or can only one ever be issued/extended? For example, with an Aus WHV visa the visas are separate. If you stay for the duration of a one year WHV and return home for a year, you can get a new second WHV. However with the NZ visa it seems like it can be extended from 12 to 36 months, but as one visa. So if you stayed for 12 months in NZ, didn’t extend, and then tried to return on a new 12 month WHV, this ..read more

Any recommendations to solo trekking Ak Suu Traverse in Kyrgyzstan?

I will be solo backpacking Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan during August and I was planning on trekking around the Karakol area. I have seen a couple posts and the Ak Suu Traverse seems like a great trek. I’m not a super experienced trekker but have made the Annapurna Base Camp trek in Nepal by myself and can get my bearings with a map and a compass. I was planning on doing the 6-7 day route that starts in Jyrgalan or Boz-Uchuk valley and gets to the Jeti Oguz resort. Any recommendations on how to get to and from those points, and also on the trek itself? Thank you in advance for all the help! sub ..read more

Hello! After a busy first year on my MSc in Social Work, I’m thinking about some trips in Europe this summer for about 3-5 days. I’d prefer to stay in the same city and I can’t drive due to my visual impairment. I’m 25, female, with a minor visual impairment. Any suggestions? Currently torn between Nice and Marseille so if anyone could give some insight, that would be great too. Decent budget, so open to all ideas! Thank you! Budget: Ideally £5-7k for about 2-3 trips, including one beach, all-inclusive type trip. Interests: Food is huge for me, I also like music and art, I like to do some thr ..read more

In the near future, probably this summmer I've been meaning to go to Canada for maybe a week but no more than 2 weeks to just look at the scenery. I'm an 18 year old woman and Hispanic not sure if my race would be a problem/danger. I'll be taking my own car a sedan with tinted windows Anyways my plan is just to go sight seeing (nature mainly hikes/trails) a big one is seeing the stars if that's possible, so no fancy hotels, eating out in fancy restaurants, as I'll also probably won't have enough money for that and I'm not quite interested in that either, I also plan on taking my dog with me a ..read more

Salkantay Trek Advice

Hello! I was just recently approved for VERY last minute time off and bought a ticket to Peru spur of the moment. I know Machu Picchu is a very desirable tourist attraction to visit so I was not surprised by any means that most of the Salkantay treks were sold out on Machu Picchu reservations’ official website, the Salkantay Trek website, and Alpaca. However, I was hoping to maybe channel some other alternatives if you guys have done treks through a different or less well-known travel company? Or if when I travel in tomorrow, is there a chance one of my hostels could hook me up and it may be ..read more
