Spanish Psychedelic Prog rockers release two new singles in a killer Studio Live Session Spinda Records strikes again! They’ll release Maragda‘s second album ‘Tyrants‘ on May 8th, and unveiled today a glorious Studio Live Session with 3 songs and an interview, including two new Singles! I’ve been looking forward to catch them live last year at the Krach Am Bach Festival, and still got surprised by the blissful psych-prog set these Spanish guys presented us. The Trio blends (seemingly) effortlessly groove, catchiness, heaviness, psychedelia, progressive melodies, and garage attitude, taking th ..read more

Mr. Momo Albums of 2023

I did not create a top in 2022 for various reasons, one of those being that I didn’t feel like it, but also because when I asked myself the question “Are there any 2022 albums that really stuck with me?”, nothing came to mind. Why? Was the year that bad? Probably not. But nothing resonated with me, except maybe All Them Witches’ Baker’s Dozen, though that was not really an album… Just wasn’t in the mood. Anyway, some albums stuck with me in 2023. They are here in no particular order because ranking is competition, and competition is a capitalist social construct responsible for destroying the ..read more

Buddha Sentenza took 6 years to sharpen their art before presenting us with this worthy follow-up to Semaphora (#6 in my 2016 top), it might have been quite a while, but with this kind of result, definitely worth it! High Tech Low Life is their third long player, and with around 15 years under the belt, the Quintet from Heidelberg, Germany definitely sounds like a seasoned band, owning their sound with amazing skill and maturity. Each album is a milestone surpassing the previous one, taking the band and the listener further every time. How’s The Sound? Wholesome. I could stop this review he ..read more

Son Cesano – Emerge Review

Son Cesano‘s second album is a dreamy instrumental journey, just like their debut album Submerge, but as the title suggests, it is lighter, wider and more free. The songs take us with them, while they develop through all kinds of different stages, opening up vast atmospheric realms for us to explore. We find a well-balanced mix of jammy and proggy, and strong contrasts from dark to bright, which nicely resembles the album’s theme. How’s The Sound? The trip starts with a vibrant first song, ‘Monus Bonus’ builds up the energy that we need to lift us away from the clutches of gravity. Now that w ..read more
