It took me six tries to finally make it to the end. Inched my way further with each attempt and I just hate this fucking movie. The only other movie that has taken me this many tries is the Zoey 102 movie which I still have yet to finish.
It’s very upsetting to say because I’m a huge Sydney Sweeney fan and there were some familiar faces in the cast too that I was happy to see. But holy shit. How the hell is it getting good reviews. I think rom coms are ignored a little too much. I get that a lot of them are cookie cutter films with bad scripts but they’re not all prolefeed. Midnight in Paris is probably one of my favorite movies of all time.
And as much as I hate to admit it I enjoyed “Anyone But You”. Yes, it was a bad attempt at adapting a Shakespeare comedy and a lot of the dialogue was cheesy or just flat out poorly written but fuck I enjoyed it.
