My house wasn’t the only active renovation occurring during the pandemic. There were other more important things that needed my full attention. Mainly me. Dealing with COVID impacts to my body and mind Shortly after quickly putting on the “COVID 15”, I was starting to feel a lot of pain in my feet and back. Daily headaches were plaguing me. It wasn’t just the weight bothering me, but I felt real mental anguish looking back at all the time and effort I had spent to get fit and strong. And the speed with which the decline happened was alarming. I tried to be gentle with myself; the impacts of th ..read more

I’ve been travelling and writing about this province for well over a decade now, so when Tourism Saskatchewan challenged me as to how I’m re-exploring the beauty of Saskatchewan in new ways, I had to really think on it. But then it came to me – thanks in part to this pandemic. During this time of prolonged uncertainty and limited ability to travel, many of us have been exploring the splendour found in our own homes, our daily moments and our backyards. We’ve slowed down, spent va ..read more

Travel & Happiness

Crossing B.C.’s Charlotte Strait from Port Hardy, seven of us land in Smith Inlet via a rare Grumman Goose plane, one of only three remaining ..read more
