Help! There is Bermuda in my weeds!

I spent all of last summer battling pigweed that had taken over my back yard. This year this is the next most noxious weed I've been trying to eradicate. Anyone know what I can use to selectively get it out? Pulling isn't an option - my yard looks like it has chicken pox. (Yes I know I need to mow) submitted by /u/jdlahmann [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

People who maintain rich people lawns: ever come across houses with fairway-manicured lawns for their dogs?

I have a herding dog and she's never experienced more joy than when she got to run free down a very nice freshly mown par five fairway. If I were rich I would maintain 40x300 meters of bent grass top dressed as smooth as ice that my dog could chase squirrels on. submitted by /u/memelard42069 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Grass not growing in the shade of the fence, What should I do with it? Extend the mulch? Add Pavers or a sidewalk?? put down stone/gravel. The walk way through the fence turns muddy with heavy rain, and is a walk way to bring the trash bin to the curb. (This is Bermuda grass)

Good evening, I’m hoping to get some help ID’ing this weed. I’ve got an infestation and so does the rest of the neighborhood. I initially thought crabgrass and treated twice with tenacity and I now have drive (quinclorac) cued up. However, I’m second guessing everything. Is this something else? submitted by /u/Positive_Wonder_8333 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Front yard looks terrible. Lots of dead spots, plastic mesh coming through in tons of spots. Any steps I can take to start fixing this? Put down Scott’s foundation because it seems like the dirt is just dead and dry, putting down some Scott’s Triple Action Southern this weekend, and am trying Sunday lawn care (I know I know…I’m not putting a ton of stock in these instagram lawn care plans but figured I’d try it) plan which has me spraying down iron boost this weekend. I’m in north Alabama if that helps submitted by /u/slyons094 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Recommended grass seed for patches that get consistent sun?

Live in Colorado. Our yard has a decent amount of large trees that provide great coverage apart from the front corner of the front yard. It gets direct sun the majority of the day. It is very patchy, and when we moved in the previous residents had sod laid down in that area because it clearly was hard to maintain for them. Any recommendations on a high sun grass seed to use? I know I got a late start, but it’s Colorado and the temps are up and down and finding a window without a random spring snowfall is tough. I want to give it a good effort at least. Any other suggestions are appreciated. I ..read more

Sod at new build in southern AL, help identifying!

We just bought a house last September, so this is really the first growing season. We’ve noticed in our back yard we have a very lush, green, and thick bladed grass we assume is centipede, but we also have this thin, light colored grass in the back half of the yard. Any ideas what it is? There’s a very distinct line between the two grasses, and you can definitely tell where the different types were rolled out. We have the thick bladed grass in our front yard as well. submitted by /u/racrz8 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
