Depending on what I am doing, I find a stitching podcast so relaxing and interesting to listen to. Two of my favourite podcast’s are Stitchery Stories and Fibre Talk – they chat with stitcher and crafters from all around the world. Stitchery Stories https://stitcherystories.com     the best UK podcast covering a wide range of all forms of textiles and crafts . Susan Weeks is the host and has been producing podcasts for years. Her passion is stitching, fibres, fabric, and creating ‘things’.  Her paid job is ‘tech stuff’.   Susan has a bright bubbly personality ..read more

Over the past months, I have had numerous Cyber classes with both EGA and ANG, teaching for my LNS along with my weekly Thursday classes and Saturday class once a month. Another very successful happy Apple Isle Retreat was held in late October on the edge of southern Tasmanian wilderness.   Friendships were formed and most importantly lots of stitches were created. I have just completed Tasmanian Native Flowers, inspired by a Native garden in my neighbourhood. Tasmania has many hills and mountains, rivers and creeks.  This design features one of the local sheltered inlets where ..read more

Glass House Fuchsia Kit

Just released as a Kit. $360  ( approx. US$250) Delicate silk ribbon Fuchsias dance on a soft delicate needlepoint background. The soft subtle tones of the threads selected to create the needlepoint are an artist interpretation of ‘old wobbly glass’ of historic Glass Houses.  I deliberately selected fine threads so that some of the white canvas would show through. Fuchsias are wonderful to create with 13mm silk ribbon. Checkout all the details and purchase in the shop The post Glass House Fuchsia Kit appeared first on Merrilyn Heazlewood ..read more
