Watch the video to be in with a chance of winning a Deco Pro or a Star G960S! If you’ve followed me online or watched some of my other reviews, you will probably know that I’m primarily a Wacom user, and have been for a long time now. I fully admit that I am probably a bit of a graphics tablet snob, in that I’ve been using a Wacom for so long now that I rarely look at other brands when I need to upgrade. Yes, there are lots of cheaper options available, but then that just means they are inferior, doesn’t it? When XP-Pen asked me to look at the Deco Pro Medium I was initially sceptical. I ..read more

Wacom One Review

Wacom are well known for the quality of their devices, but they are also known for being expensive. Traditionally, beginner artists or those on a budget, have had to stick to the more affordable Intuos style tablets if they wanted to use a pen to create with. Owning a display tablet seemed a distant dream. Recently, Wacom have started to address this by offering lower priced Cintiq models like the Cinitq 16 and 22. Giving users the option of a pen display at a lower price, but these could still be a bit too expensive for the new user. Last year I was invited to the Wacom offices in Dusseld ..read more

Wacom Bamboo Sketch Review

When it comes to digital painting I’m truly spoilt because I get to use a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 each day. With over 8,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, many people do wonder if you can even tell the difference between this, and a device with a fraction of those levels. I can confirm that you can, especially when you shade the way I do. I rely on the lightest of strokes to build up my tones gradually and having tested a number of devices I’ve felt first-hand that the numbers do matter. The problem is, when it comes to painting on a mobile device, I feel like I ‘m being held back because I c ..read more

How To Become a Better Artist
antCGi Ltd.

If your reading this your probably one of two types of people. You may be looking to start sketching or want to get into digital painting but aren’t sure of how to go about it, or even where to begin. Alternatively, you may be like I was a few years ago. I used to draw all the time, but once my career in game development began, my focus then shifted from pens and pencils to polygons and vertices and I rarely, if ever, picked up a pencil. Each year my new year’s resolution would be to draw more but I never really stuck to it, that was until a few years ago when I decided enough was enough ..read more

Wacom Intuos Review
antCGi Ltd.

I remember when I started working in this industry. The thought of being able to use any sort of creative tablet felt like a distant dream, something way out of my reach. Back then they were expensive and could be quite large and heavy so were reserved for the top artists with a more flexible budget. These days it seems that longing has progressed to the interactive display tablets, like the Cintiq’s. They are coveted by artists wanting the ability to draw directly on the screen while the humble tablet is almost seen as an inferior device. The truth is that entry level tablets like the Int ..read more

Wacom Bamboo Fineline 3 Review

I love the idea of being out of the office, maybe traveling or just waiting for a bus, and being able to get out my phone and do some sketching or even continue working on a painting. I know I could take a sketchbook out with me, and I have in the past, but sometimes you want the added benefits which come with a painting application. When in my office I spend all my time working digitally rather than traditionally, so if I’m out, and only have a short amount of time, I want to be able to drop in and work comfortably. Up to now this dream has evaded me. The problem I have is that I use a Wa ..read more

Marsno Earphones Review

I’m now in my forties and throughout my life I’ve had countless headphones. I remember being in the back of the car as my parents drove me and my brothers to the coast for our annual holiday. Walkman in my lap and a pair of flimsy headphones with foam padding clamped around my head. These days we are spoilt with the variety on offer, and those inclined can spend a small fortune so the music they listen to is as close to perfection as possible. But what about the other end of the spectrum? My own children seem to go through a pair of headphones a month and can’t afford to be spending upwards ..read more

Surface Studio Review

When Microsoft unveiled the Surface Studio back in October 2016, like most people, I was impressed with how it looked. The idea of having a single desktop device which could do everything sounded perfect. It had a computer built into the base, a gorgeous, large screen and what’s more, the screen could be lowered to become an artists graphics tablet. No need to buy each piece separately or find different parts to get the workspace you desire, it was all there in one compact package. Since its release its had some mixed reviews. People seem to love the screen and in general its been welcomed b ..read more
