Swissport started providing freight forwarder handling in Germany. The new service complements Swissport’s existing portfolio of air cargo services for airlines and will now be rolled out globally across the company’s network.
With the launch of forwarder handling, Swissport is expanding its service offerings in the German cargo market. Effective 15 January 2024, Swissport has become JAS’s sole cargo handling agent for Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has awarded a cargo handling contract to Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) at a fourth major airport gateway in North America.
The new three-year agreement will see WFS, a member of SATS Group, handle cargo onboard SAS flights to and from Boston.

Boeing is buying 9.4 million gallons (35.6 million litres) of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to support its 2024 U.S. commercial operations, reducing its carbon emissions and working to help grow the supply of the fuel globally.
This is the company’s largest annual SAF purchase, more than 60% higher than its buy in 2023.
