I’m trying to make kimchi jiigae, the recipe says that anchovy paste is best but can be substituted for chicken or beef stock. How much do the different stocks alter taste? Chicken specifically as i have that submitted by /u/yellowpradasock [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is Kimchi hard to make

my gf is Korean and she loves to eat her parents’ Kimchi. Me personally, as a competitive male, I like to be the best and just to tease and prove that I’m better, I am taking it upon myself to make my own Kimchi so we don’t have to go over her parents house just to eat some cabbage. If you have anything to tips pls say it. imfollowing some simple YouTube tutorial and I’m not sure if it’s enough. I don’t know if each family has their own version of kimchi, but I just want to make mine better. submitted by /u/Shizzins [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Tteokbokki with fried mandoo from Honu’s kalbi and sushi in Honolulu

I was super lucky to have someone bring me an order of tteokbokki from Honu’s today. It’s loaded with tteok, fishcake, a hard boiled egg, onions, green onion and had 4 fried mandoo on top. The best part was adding rice to eat with the sauce at the end. It was definitely a significant step up from my home made tteokbokki from a package. submitted by /u/thebadhedgehog5 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Korean Chicken Noodle Ramyun

Coming in with another instant noodle recommendation cuz I’m Korean so trust me bro ? . Hmart has this unless they’re sold out. This is as close as you can get to a Korean chicken noodle soup. It says it’s spicy but it totally isn’t. I highly recommend putting Sriracha on it. submitted by /u/buh_rah_een [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
