Hi all, have noticed an issue when exporting demolition plans with lots of elements shown demo'd. Our phase override settings give a red diagonal surface pattern to demolished elements, which is handy for some our workplace jobs where portions of the fitout including workstations and FFE need to be shown to be removed. When exporting dwg though it's exporting every single element's hatch as a unique fill pattern. It means the exporting is taking minutes per sheet while it generates hundreds of patterns and the dwg files are laggy and 10x the expected size. It seems to just not like when lots ..read more

If a Point Cloud is loaded into an existing Revit model and does not align with the modeled geometry, does it need to be manually repositioned in Revit to align? If the same Point Cloud is being used in multiple consultant models, do all of them have to make the exact same move? I see that the origin can be changed in Recap. Is that the best workflow? What happens if new scan data gets loaded into the RCS file? Is there a step I'm missing? Looking for ideas and best practices on point cloud alignment with Revit models. Dynamo newbie here, trying to find a way to automate naming a bunch of family types. So far I managed to write it for one singular type. You still have to type it manually if you want to change anything. How could I automate it further to take just the first 3 items from every list? Hello, everyone! I am new to Revit and I wanted to know if there is a way to add a "skin" or a second layer over the walls - say I have a 250mm wall as the actual structure and then I want to add a 100mm layer that represents insulation and is a different material/texture from the wall. It needs to be separate from the wall because this layer sometimes goes around the outside perimeter of balconies and sometimes it switches texture/materials in the middle of the same wall. Hi you guys. I m working at fire detection family, but i can't do the same mask at the annotation i've done in the outlets family. In the outlets family i used a region mask to hide my conduits that pass near the annotation, this way i can show my symbol just right in the floor plan sheet. We have a family that is a floor based generic model family, it has an extrusion dropping down through the floor to show where the pipework is required through the slab. When we create a view in the project of the level below and extend the view range so that it includes this extrusion the whole family becomes visible and not just the extrusion.
