Paris Opera Ballet’s Guillaume Diop was promoted last month to the highest rank of “Danseur Étoile” on stage at the LG Arts Center in Seoul, following the performance of Giselle. Guillaume’s promotion to Étoile from Sujet, has only been achieved by a few predecessors including, Laurent Hilaire in 1985, Manuel Legris in 1986 and Mathieu Ganio in 2004. Semperoper Ballett has announced Kinsun Chan will become Artistic Director at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. He succeeds Aaron S. Watkin, who becomes Artistic Director of English National Ballet after 17 years in Dresden.
