Aeroplano.Coffee was quite a surprise when I first visited. The entrance doesn’t give much away, but stepping inside reveals a delightful space. To the left, you'll find the barista's area, and to the right, a cozy seating area awaits. Further in, a spacious, beautifully decorated room and a leafy patio offer ideal spots for warm days (and even in winter!). Aeroplano.Coffee, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience. True to its name, Aeroplano.Coffee serves up exceptional coffee crafted by skilled baristas. The menu boasts a diverse selection of options, featuring beans from four local ro ..read more

Suto, located in Sants, is a Japanese restaurant that has recently been awarded its first Michelin star, a well-deserved accolade. With only six seats arranged around the bar where Chef Yoshi Suto works his magic, diners are treated to a stunning omakase-style dining experience featuring seasonal ingredients. Chef Suto has spent 20 years in Spain, and in 2019 he converted an old bar into what the Suto restaurant is now. Suto, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience. Suto, Barcelona. Varmuteo, located in Sant Antoni, is the sister establishment to Alapar (read my review here: it’s a favorite restaurant of mine!), and shares a kitchen where all the prep is done. But Varmuteo is a whole different beast: it might be small, with only a few seats, but the whole package is a perfect 10. Varmuteo, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience. Varmuteo, Barcelona. Flat Cafe is a pretty newcomer in an area in Barcelona where it’s not easy to find nice cafes or brunch places. It is located close to Hospital Clinic, just a few steps away from the metro. The spot is sunny and the space is light and inviting: if you pass by, it’s impossible not to stop in for a little something. Flat Café, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience. Restaurante Bar Mila is a new, yet old-timey bar that defies expectations. While it may resemble any typical Gràcia bar at first glance, a closer look at the menu on the window reveals its unique offerings. Clam chowder croquetas..? Clams with sake and butter..? Inside the stunning Hotel Casa Sagnier (read my review here), you can find the equally beautiful Cafè de l’Arquitecte. It is divided into two spaces: a cozy and vibrant cafe that in the evening turns into a cocktail bar and on the opposite side, a very different space opens up: a beautiful restaurant that also serves as a breakfast space in the mornings.
