I've been working on an automatic saw for about a year, coming from a hospitality background just two years ago. Recently, I was temporarily assigned to operate a Mazak VC-500/5X CNC mill. The initial instructions were simple: load the metal, tighten it in the vice, close the door, and press the green button. However, I’ve been a bit overwhelmed.
I frequently encountered an 'emergency stop 3 error'. My colleague next to me resets the machine very quickly instead of walking me through, making it hard for me to follow the necessary steps. I've managed to learn how to open the door without causi ..read more

Hi everyone, What I’m trying to do is connect one of my drives from the mill onto my lathes spindle to do some indexing for cutting horological gears. There are dedicated cnc controllers that do this but I want to try the diy way. I use openbuilds to control my Taig cnc mill. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm looking to get something similar to this manufactured. Would any competent 3d modeler be able to deliver a product suitable for machining or do I need to find someone with manufacturing design experience? Any suggestions on where to find someone qualified to do the modeling? I'm reluctant to hire some random person off of Fiver. Thanks
*I'm familiar with and will be following all relevant laws. This is a non-serialized part and has nothing to do with ghost guns etc.

Been using mastercam X9 at work and just switched over to fusion. Noticed that the files post as .CNC out of fusion and .NC out of X9, are their any real differences between them?
Secondary question, does anyone know a better way to edit .CNC posts than using visual studio. Ive had trouble deleting block numbers and random forward slashes that it puts in. Any help Is appreciated.

i am designing a AUTOMATED workstation that facilitates the machining operation of stamped parts (small size) .
workstation features :
1) mikron series machines (4-5)
2) pallet conveyor system
3) 3d scanner
there is another aspect of the machining that needs to be taken into account , that being the removal of chips from the machined part. This would ensure the accuracy of the 3d scanner.
Workstation being automated, no manual airgun methods could be implemented. I came across AIRBLAST stations that were used in cleaning the machined part.
could you suggest some more specifics of the system t ..read more

Howdy. I own a small woodworking/cabinet shop and recently added an older 4x8 techno CNC to my toolset. I’ve just purchased a 2hp dust collector that will only be for this CNC, and a new dust boot that will be arriving next week. I’m looking for enclosure ideas as I’ve got the machine in the climate controlled area of my shop where I also store product and sometimes do finishing work.
I wanted to avoid having it in the warehouse area as it gets really dusty daily, and it’s awful humid here in TX. I don’t have to run the machine when I’m doing finishing work but I do want to do something to k ..read more
