Hello all! I currently work at a relatively small company with about 250 users, with the future possibility of adding about 150 more. I manage and create content for our LMS despite having absolutely no formal training in Web development or course creation, however I am an internal educator at this company so I know what information needs to be taught to each learner. it is a rather niche industry so I set up and create all the content, courses and user accounts myself. we are currently using AbsorbLMS to host our content and I've also been using their internal create platform to make courses ..read more

Looking for a Platform that will allow teachers to run courses with their classes

Hi, we are looking for a platform that can deploy a course aimed at middle school students, each 'lesson' of the module will have video, text and should allow questions to be entered (multiiple choice and text entry). We will open the course up to allow teachers in different schools to signup and use the learning material, being able to track their own class' progress. Is there any platforms that we can selfhost and develop this content on? submitted by /u/IllustratorWrong543 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

LMS integration with a Virtual Machine

We have Cornerstone as our LMS and our training needs are frequently based on software applications we sell. In order to facilitate our training we frequently require the use of cloud based virtual machines either in Azure applications or VMware. Are these options generally with VM vendors to more directly j regrade virtual machines with an LMS. The ideal would be the ability to issue an image to a learner at the beginning of f of an ILT session or even as self paced with the image launching on a clear schedule. submitted by /u/Blowfishwi75 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Learner evaluation surveys for compliance courses

I want to keep it brief to increase participation. What do you think of my first draft? In terms of the data I’d like to collect, I’m really interested in their experience with the course and how it can be improved. I’m not as concerned with application to their job because it’s compliance training so hardly anyone believes they need it but we have to push it out. submitted by /u/Tom_Aydo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can you recommend an affordable, user-friendly option for converting to SCORM?

Hey eveyone. I need to create a course using SCORM. I am on a tight budget, so higher fees associated with Storyline 360, iSpring etc. prevent me from using them. I tried using Adobe Captivate but it keeps crashing and not saving my work. I do not know why, but I've lost hours of my time on this and have opted to move on. I was about to use CoAssemble, but then I saw I can only use the SCORM file as long as I pay them the monthly/annual fee, meaning I don't really own it. Is there a good but affordable way to create a course for SCORM that gives me full ownership once it's published? submitt ..read more

WP LMS for private internal

I’m having a hard time figuring out what LMS would work best for me. A few critical components I need… ability to not allow video forwarding (ie video completion) ability to have a closed LMS. Logged in members only non sales-y vibe/theme. Going to be used for staff to login and receive additional training certificates after completion The one that I think comes closest is LifterLMS however I hate their add on pricing. It almost forced me to get the infinity package which renews at 1500 a year. I like their private site add-on and advanced videos. Any other recommendations for my use case ..read more

Help with importing Common Cartridge into TalentLMS (SCORM)

Hi. I am helping a local school transition to a new LMS platform. Their current platform is probably too much for them, and the annual pricing is very expensive. For that reason we are looking to move them to TalentLMS, which has a slightly more flexible pricing system. They want to convert their courses if possible. However, their current platform exports courses to the Common Cartridge format. TalentLMS only appears to import courses in SCORM version 1.2, xAPI, and cmi5. Can anyone recommend tools for converting these course files, or perhaps a third party resource that is capable of helpin ..read more
