Sharepoint Online - Is there an easy way to see which Document Libraries or Folders someone has access to

Hi r/sharepoint At the MSP I work for sometimes we have requests to give someone the same access as someone else already has in Sharepoint Online. Some of our customers have built Sharepoint themselves and ended up with unique permissions set on different libraries under the same site and usually it's pretty messy. Is there an easy way to get an overall view of what a user has access to (without checking each library or folder) via Powershell or alternative methods? submitted by /u/jv159 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! I want to add a button to my share point site that users can click that will opt them in to a share point group, I will then use this group to alert when something on the page changes as I was told there is no way to add a subscribe button directly to a page- so a user would have to go into site contents and alert. But I just want it to be a button? submitted by /u/Front-Researcher-365 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have a sharepoint site and currently clearing the cache fixes this issue for about 15 mins but it comes right back. I open an excel document from the sharepoint site and it opens to an all white page, not a blank document to be clear, but when I open it from recent activity, or open in app it works fine. I do need it to work in the browser otherwise this would not be an issue. It is only excel documents it's happening to both xlsx and xls. I can create new excel docs and it pops open correctly, but trying to open the one I just created results in the same error. Just looking for some guidan ..read more

Hello, As the title says I have no experience in SP and pretty much none experience in IT. I work for my parents business mainly reading PWS forms and excel sheets, nothing too technical. But due to reasons difficult to explain. I am now required to “become a sharepoint expert in 6 month or be fired”. As someone with no background in this I am extremely stressed out and don’t know where to start. I have no experience in coding but heard HTML and then CSS are good places to start. Then SQL. But this is all seems like a daunting task . If even possible to do in this time frame. If anyone has an ..read more

I create a modern SharePoint site, it asks me to name it and it asks me to assign a Site owner. Then, when I go to the SharePoint admin center and examine membership for that site, I see 4 groups. Site admins Site owners Site members Site visitors The person I added as an "Owner" during site creation is NOT in the "Site owners" group. They are in the "Site admins" group. The "Site owners" group is empty. What exactly is the difference between these two SharePoint groups? (And why does it ask for you to designate an owner on creation and then put them in the admin group and not the owners gr ..read more

Hello everyone, I have a client who wants to implement an online SharePoint solution for their intranet use. They are ready to activate a new tenant for SharePoint. I want to make sure if every user needs any license or not. By default, Microsoft provides 1 TB per tenant, as per my knowledge. How can I plan this, and do users need licenses? submitted by /u/Shanuka_Thushara [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How to Hide a Column Header in a Formatted List View so User can not filter with that specific header?

I have a list with 3 columns: Title, Description, and Date. I would like to change the headers of the columns. Currently, all three headers are visible, but I want to hide the Title header so that my client can only use Description or Date to filter in the formatted list view. How can I achieve this? When I hide the column in Edit view, the entire column along with its data disappears from the formatted view, which is not what I want. I only want the header to be hidden. submitted by /u/shockvandeChocodijze [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
