I have mostly just used excel spreadsheets to map out Legacy Database table/field To Target Database table/field. With some notes on transformation where applicable. Usually typing everything out. Does anyone have a tool/method they like to use for data mapping that might make the process easier? submitted by /u/Few_Cryptographer_95 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, I applied to Oracle's graduate program, and HR interviewed me for the ERP Associate Technical Support Engineer role, which involves supporting North American users. I've been invited to the Superday event, and I would like to know what to expect during this event and what types of questions they might ask during the interview for this role. Could you provide some insights? Thank you! submitted by /u/georginadln [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

BSOD on 19c on Windows server 2022 during vmware snapshot (orafenceservice.sys)?

Hello, we have this new Oracle 19c installation with GRID on a windows server 2022 machine. The machine have 48 GB RAM, 4 DB installed, one on Oracle GRID and ASM drive to bind multiple NVME drives. The VM is on a ESXi 7 host. I was taking a snapshot and the machine crashed with a BSOD at the unfreeze stage. The minidump seems to point to the orafenceservice.sys driver. Anyone have some hint? We backup the VM with VEEAM and there was no BSOD in 6 months when veeam does it backup (and it generate a snapshot each time) submitted by /u/execcr [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

CPU steal time causing issues, due to spikey load

I'm running Sinusbot (the only decent music bot for teamspeak) on an on-demand instance. I have never had this issue with anything (TeamSpeak server, a bunch of scripts, other open source servers etc. etc.), even with other ytdl music bots. But specifically Sinusbot spikes CPU usage (to about 20-30% from almost nothing), which causes a lot of stuttering, due to CPU not being available instantly and it nor prioritizing playback, over fetching other music (at least that's what I assume it is). Is there anything I can do? Like something, that would temporarily increase CPU base-load when needed ..read more

Hi All. I am trying to figure out how to query a value that contains certain strings and ONLY those strings. For example: Row 1: a;b;c;d Row 2: a;b;c Row 3: a;b;c;s;k Row 4: d;e;f Each row must contain a, b, and c but nothing else. Does anyone have any ideas about how to write the query? Unable to reclaim unused space

Hi guys, we need to reclaim unused space from datafiles as this specific database has almost 50% fragmentation now . The reason to reclaim space is, there won't be any new data going into this DB anymore , also we need the space at disk level as soon as possible . Since we don't have space left at disk level we cannot perform tablespace reorganization by moving objects . We cannot perform datapumo as well , don't wanna drop and reimport schema. What we are trying to do is reorg tablespace in place . Enable row movement,Truncate and delete specific tables , then run shrink space cascase , move ..read more
