Several years ago I rescued my first corgi and at the time I would never have thought I would breed my own dogs. That’s something I had grown up with but as an adult it didn’t seem very important to me and I was happy to get a rescued dog from a shelter. But this corgi really changed my life in a way and I fell in love with the breed. Prior to this I would never have understood being captivated by one breed of dog. Sure I had my favorites, but it seemed to really come down to the individual dog. At least that is what I thought until I found a breed that really was for me. I realized I never w ..read more

Hermit crabs are small, cheap, interesting little pets to have. They are easy to find in pet stores, don’t eat food and require basic maintenance. However there are a few things about them (not difficult things) that people don’t know and end up harming them.
Most people, even hermit crab owners, do not know that hermit crabs need to have high humidity. They should be in 70% humidity. Hermit crabs out grow their shell and need to change to a new one as they age. These are not difficult things to provide, but because most people don’t know these two things, their crabs often die.
