ggwave-arduino is an Arduino library for transferring data over sound for microcontrollers. There is an iPhone & Android app for transmitting digital data via sound to an ESP32 development board with an Adafruit Electret microphone. The second breadboard (on the right) can also send data to the breadboard on the left. The GitHub repo has an examples folder for sample circuits. See a demonstration video below and more on GitHub ..read more

Light Vader – a haptic light dimmer #ESP32 #Arduino #IoT
Adafruit | Arduino
by Anne Barela

Christoph Döberl tweaked a motor fader from a mixpanel to use it as an internet-connected light dimmer with lots of IoT magic. To demonstrate the possibilities and make a cool project, we decided to build a light dimmer with the motor fader. The idea is to read the sensor in the fader and dim a smart light bulb accordingly. When adding multiple input interfaces each fader can be adjusted to represent the correct value by controlling the motor. The resistance sensor allows a stepless control for any brightness level, which comes in handy especially in the evening hours where a dimmed light ca ..read more

Kevin presents a wrapup of using Arduino direct digital (additive) synthesis. A single sketch can be configured for either PWM, an R2R ladder or the MCP4725 I2C DAC. Parts list Arduino Uno or Nano. Cheap or disposable amplification and speaker. Several 10K potentiometers. One of: Arduino PWM Output Filter Circuit. Arduino Audio Experimenter Shield PCB. Nano Audio Experimenter Shield PCB. Breadboard and jumper wires The Circuit There is no specific circuit dedicated to this post, but it works well with the two audio experimenter PCBs listed above, which each contain options for ..read more

The Adafruit STEMMA Analog SPDT Switch lets anyone use the MAX4544 SPDT analog switch for signals up to 12V, without fiddly soldering. When the selection signal is low, the Common pin is connected to the Normally Closed (NC) pin and disconnected from the Normally Open (NO) pin. When the selection signal is high, the Common pin is connected to NO and disconnected from NC. The Adafruit STEMMA Analog SPDT Switch guide has everything you need to get started with using this breakout. There’s pages for overview, pinouts, CircuitPython, Arduino and resources for download. HackSpace Magazine Issue 75 – DIY Gadgets looks at the Zumo robot for Arduino available at Adafruit. The Zumo Robot is an Arduino-based tracked robot that is less than 10 cm × 10 cm, which qualifies it for mini sumo competitions. Power is provided by two micro metal gearbox motors, and it features a stainless steel bulldozer-like blade for pushing around the competition. It has six infrared sensors for line following or edge detection, an accelerometer, a magnetometer, gyroscope, and a buzzer, allowing you to play your favourite victory song. No soldering required – just add four AA batteri ..read more
