I'm currently trying to implement app settings. My app already uses Room for storing all sorts of data, including user-generated content. However, I'm pondering whether to extend its usage to store app settings as well, syncing them along with the rest of the data to a remote database (in case the user deletes the app and created an account).
On the other hand, I've been looking at Android's documentation to adopt DataStore for managing stuff like app settings.
So, should I integrate app settings into my existing Room Database, syncing them alongside app data? Or is it better to create a sepa ..read more

MaterialCardView introduced stroke colors to set background colors. Does anyone know how I can set a custom gradient color (xml, code)? ie I want the top half to be green, and bottom half stroke to be red.
To be clear, I want the stroke to be gradient color, not the background.
Thanks

I had started making a space game, but now I'd rather do something else. I have published the source code on Github. The first two levels are already playable.

Hello, I'm new to android app development, I would like to know if it is possible to have a kotlin jetpack compose app for the UI and a big part of the logic of the app coming from rust compiled to webassembly ? So that I can reuse this code for the same app on a different platform.

Would you say volunteering as a QA tester for several indie projects might be a good way to learn the ropes and thus eventually work your way towards paid employment in that capacity in the game dev industry?
