Drooling and sucking fist
Reddit - Newborn Baby

My 10 week old is drooling like crazy and constantly sucking on his fist. This just started in the last day or so. He doesn’t seem to be fussy otherwise and is generally a content little baby. I read drooling and fist sucking can be signs of teething but he’s only 10 weeks and that seems too soon. We have a routine pediatrician appointment next week so we’ll get him checked out. But could he be teething this early? Is excessive drooling and fist sucking a sign of anything else? Thanks. submitted by /u/TopSpot1787 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

1 month old barely slept all day

Today my month old has not really slept all day since waking up this morning around 7:45am and it’s 7:27pm my time. She has maybe a few stretches of 5-10 mins and she is up again needing to be in my arms or to eat (I breastfeed). I have tried to put her in her swing and playmat, but she doesn’t tolerate it for any longer than a couple mins. I have no idea what’s wrong, I’ve tried everything in the book. I have to rock her to sleep and when she’s dead asleep and I put her down, she’ll wake up within 5-10 mins. Anyone else experience this, and if so how did you get through it? Should I call the ..read more

Breastfeeding

I hate breastfeeding and pumping and I feel so guilty saying it because I know there’s so many people who wish they could. It just eats into my day to have to sit down and pump and I can’t even get 8 hours of sleep because of needing to pump, and as a working mom it’s eating into my sleep more than caring for the baby is. I don’t feel any special bond or connection from it it’s just more work. I can’t even hold my baby sometimes because either the pumps are in the way or my boobs hurt. I am an overproducer so even if I directly breastfeed I still have to pump afterwards to give myself some re ..read more

Postpartum psychosis

I am having a breakdown, I have been experiencing postpartum psychosis and have been on short term disability because I am unfit to work. Today I found out from my psychiatrist that I can only get so many weeks of work reports for place off of work. And I’ve basically met my limit and they can no longer extend it, I’m so sad because I am not fit to go back to work. I work in construction and oversee safety measures, I can put peoples life at risk. We don’t have money for me to just be a SAHM, I don’t know what to do… I’m just so devastated. Yesterday, my 10 week old (11 weeks Tomorrow)went down DBA (drowsy but awake) for 2 naps AND put himself back to sleep last night. I was ecstatic as I have been obsessed with him learning this. I was holding him naps and night. Today I tried it again both morning naps and it didn't work at all. The 1st one I was caressing his face and the 2nd one he just wasn't having it. I feel so defeated. Tomorrow we have a communion and will be out if the house all day and Sundays are always so crazy as the house is full that he even had horrible naps when I hold him. We will start again on Monday but eve ..read more

10 week old nap changes. Advice?

The day my baby turned 10 weeks old her naps took a huge turn. She used to take 1-2 hour naps and they were always contact naps because she would only last 30 minutes max in the crib. Now it’s way harder to get her to sleep and her naps are sometimes only 20 minutes with maybe 1 45-50 minute nap. It doesn’t matter if we do a contact nap or crib nap. The problem is if she wakes up before 45 minutes she is obviously still tired and if we don’t get her back to sleep she is cranky. The only surefire way to get her back to sleep is put her in the carrier and bounce on the yoga ball. I know short n ..read more
