Throwback to 2015
Jost Nickel Drummer

Throwback to 4 years ago with some background info. In 2015 I was in Canada to record a live lesson for Drumeo. I don’t know how my colleagues feel about this but I can assure you that events like these make me nervous. So, I went to bed early the night before the shoot and fell asleep soon after I went to bed. The only problem was: I woke up after 45 minutes when my brain started engaging in a conversation: “Jost, you should sleep now. It’s better to be well-rested tomorrow.” I’m like: “Yeah, I’m trying.” My brain: “Jost? JOST? Are you sure that you got your stuff together…..I mean like……you ..read more

Hi Everybody, I am proud to present to you my brand-new Sonor Signature Snare!! Before I go into technical details, let me first say something about the video that I recorded to show the versatility and the beauty of that instrument: Writing the piece for the video was fun AND took long because it consists of 9 different parts. I actually recorded demos of all parts, then changed them and went back to record them again to really be s ..read more

This has been recorded in Quebec, Canada at the very last edition of the Ralph Angelillo Drum Fest. Ralph is already in his seventies and felt like that’s a good age for retirement. It’s been a pleasure to play at the festival and I will also never forget the 2010 Montreal Drum Fest (that Ralph also organized) because that was my first international drum fest. Please leave a comment and share the video ..read more
