I am not a drummer by any means. I think Hotel California has a pretty solid drum arrangement. Nothing too flashy but some pretty cool fills. I had a question about the drums/percussion used in verse 5 that directly follows the second chorus. (Mirrors on the ceiling…) At the end of verse 5 after the lyrics “But they just can’t kill the beast” there is a drum fill that leads into verse 6. Does anyone know what instrument was used for that? My drummer went to goodwill today and sent me the first picture. Told me the whole package was 80 bucks. Here is my final take of a song called Charade by Max Cooper aka @mrpianoman on TikTok. I’ll post it with the track when it’s done so you can hear the song but I thought this might be interesting for discussion. This session was old school. The artists and producer worked together to sculpt the parts we were all playing and I made notes as we went and built the part into what you see here.
