The cost of entry is £10 per person but anything we raise is ours for our good cause/group/charity (TBC)   The event involves up to 24 teams competing (in a fun way) around a field of giant inflatable obstacles, each team comprises of between 8 and 12 people.   *ONLY A FEW TEAM SPACES LEFT.   The event starts at 11:30 – 11:45 but teams need to be on site by 10:30 to register The challenge finishes approx 4:30 – 5pm The event is run similar to a relay with teams picking players for each obstacle   On the day there are also craft stalls, a car boot sale kids activities, BBQ a ..read more

This week Lewis received the ‘Ambassador’ badge from his school for his continuing hard work and Focus(especially in Maths) as well as being a consistently helpful and Loyal student. Lewis is a member of Kaizen-Do Karate who is making excellent progress here too as well as at school and has just recently gained his blue belt and is now a Level 2 student. Lewis has been a member of Kaizen-Do Karate since 2013 and successfully gained his 1st Dan black belt in 2016. Thanks to the Academy’s LIFESKILL & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME, Karate has given Lewis increased CONFIDENCE, FOCUS, DETERMINATION and the ability to present himself as an excellent ambassador for the Academy in front of large crowds. Recently Lewis was successfully appointed as Head boy at his school for 2017-2018. unior Dragon George  was elected the Rochdale Borough Children’s Champion at a ceremony at Rochdale Town Hall on Tuesday 4 July. George beat five other finalists in the competition, organised by Rochdale Youth Service. George’s manifesto outlined his priorities; countryside awareness and increased outdoor learning, getting children to learn basic first aid, and encouraging children and young people to communicate with the elderly, including building links between schools and care homes. This weekend Sensei Emma lead 2 Kata seminars for level 1 & 2 students who needed a bit of help with their Kata. The students took advantage of working in a small group spending time going through their Kata in detail with an instructor. To finish, Sensei Emma lead some fun Kata drills (blindfold Kata, Sequence Kata, Kata in a different direction and also some level 1 Bunkai). Buddy Week is here again!

From 8th – 14th May any of our members at Kaizen-Do (adults & children) can bring a buddy with them to try out a Karate class for FREE. This could be relatives or friends from school. All you need to do is turn up in something comfortable and join in. Children under 16 will need to bring a parent with them to complete health and safety forms but also it gives parents a chance to see their child in action.
