You might recall that I was a bit unsure about revealing Baby B’s gender. Both hubby and I were absolutely totally and utterly convinced Baby #2 was a boy. With Toddler H we were adamant we did not want to find out what we were having until she was born. However with Baby #2 we couldn’t wait to find out. My pregnancy was so different we just had this gut instinct that baby was a boy. We were so eager we actually had a private gender scan at 16 weeks to confirm what we were sure we knew. I was so excited we could do a ‘gender reveal’ like I saw time and time again on Facebook. I had all sorts o ..read more

38 weeks pregnant + heatwave + humidity = no sleep & taking stock | Second Pregnancy
New Mummy Blog | Pregnancy & Parenting

I currently 38 weeks pregnant. It’s a heatwave, albeit one that happens most years at the end of May. I’ve been awake since 4am uncomfy, mostly due to the heat. My app says its 91% humidity right now. Baby has decided to stretch out (to take full advantage if the fan?) and has her bum just above my tummy button, but her legs which are usually sticking out my side are wedged under my ribs. Every so often she has a stretch. I don’t think that’s helping me get back to sleep. It’s now 5.30am, I’ve still not slept since 4am and baby’s legs are still stretching. I’ve just realised the Braxton Hicks ..read more

I’ve found myself taking many many more photos of the three of us, and of Toddler H with bump. She’s so affectionate, so caring and so so funny…   Every evening this week I’ve wondered if these will be the last photos of us as a family of three, and of my pregnancy bump. So it’s only fitting that I choose one from today, Saturday, as my Sunday Photo… Who knows it might actually be the last! I doubt it, but one day until the next few weeks a photo just like this will be. Lynne X The post Toddler H and bump | MySundayPhoto appeared first on New Mummy Blog ..read more

Cantaloop Pregnancy Support Belt | REVIEW

I was very kindly sent a Cantaloop pregnancy support belt to try. As you might know I’ve had lots of hip and back pain this pregnancy and was given a tubi-grip support by the physio. I must say I tried this support band and t was comfy. It also didn’t cover me and my clothes in cut edge fibres from the tubi-grip! A huge win!!   Cantaloop Pregnancy Support Belt   It’s comfy and I can really feel the support across bump, my pelvis and back. It’s also very light material so actually ok in warmer weather too. It definitely feels much nicer than a tubigrip! It also doesn’t have any seams ..read more

I can’t believe we’re getting so far into May! I’ve now reached 37 weeks, full term so am so happy this means I can go to the birth centre when things happen, and baby is doing well. This week has been filled with busy mornings and quieter afternoons, just what I needed.   1. Cotswold Baby Show I popped to the Cotswold Baby and Toddler Show last weekend and met some lovely ladies who I’ve chatted to online for ages – Victoria from Baby Prints Cheltenham (who took part in my #MummyInBusiness series) and Suzanne from Nom Nom Kids Reusable Food Pouches. It was lovely to finally meet them in ..read more

Mum to be must haves – Pregnancy products I’m using the second time round

There are definitely some products that are brilliant that just work. They  are invaluable and I used them first time round and they are back out with this second pregnancy too. Here are a few products I loved when I was pregnant with Toddler H and I’ve been using them again this time too… 1. Bump belt for the car This is safety 101, a simple device to keep both me and baby safe. It just routes he seatbelt as low as possible around bump so if we were in an accident baby is more protected. After reading lots of reviews I bought a ClippaSafe Bump belt on Amazon, and they sill sell it… (affi ..read more

My H&M Maternity favourites | Pregnancy Style

A few months ago I realise I was no longer stretching into my ‘big’ tshirts and jumpers and old maternity clothes just looked and felt old. I felt like I needed a pick me up and some maternity clothes. Last time I was pregnant it was only starting to get cold as H was born in November, so I hadn’t needed to bother with jumpers as my inbuilt central heating baby kept me rather warm. To be honest, sometimes we just need some new clothes to help with this huge change, and feel comfortable with ourselves.    Anyway, I popped to H&M, knowing they’d have some good prices, and quality a ..read more

I’m actually now 39 weeks pregnant, but here’s the post covering 34-36 weeks, which j never published… Ups and Downs It’s been a few weeks of ups and downs. After we had a lovely break in the Lake District with my family and celebrating my mum’s 65th birthday things plodded as normal and then at 35 weeks we had a hospital visit as a midwife measured bump 1cm smaller than a midwife the week before. I’m not sure what happened to their “there are 3 cm leeway” remarks every time I measured smaller. Actually some said 2cm leeway, so it was all a bit bonkers, and put us behind in finishing the patio ..read more

British Baby Box & Baby Annabell Newborn | Mum to be gifts
New Mummy Blog | Pregnancy & Parenting

I was recently contacted to be involved in the British Baby Box and Baby Annabell Newborn campaign for mums to be and new mummies. Of course, I’ve heard about baby boxes and the initiative to bring the British Baby Box to Britain, but not in much detail. First off, I guess you might not have heard of a Baby Box, and what it is… here’s a bit of info: What is a Baby Box? A baby box is a large box baby can sleep in, that sounds a bit weird, but it’s incredibly safe and has been reported to be a significant reason as to why Finland’s infant mortality rate is so low, it’s actually the 5th lowe ..read more

Mum to be – products I’m loving during my second pregnancy
New Mummy Blog | Pregnancy & Parenting
by newmummy

I’ve written before about how this second pregnancy is so different to my first with Toddler H. How this time around I wasn’t sick, and how my hip pain started much earlier. As mummy to a toddler and a mum to be there are several products I’m loving during my second pregnancy which I didn’t use or things that I didn’t like during my first. Just another reason first and second pregnancies differ! It’s been quite exhausting having a toddler who doesn’t nap while being pregnant which you might notice features in quite a few of these items…   A new pregnancy pillow I’ve struggled with my hips ..read more
