Retrieving the DLAB Score

I took my DLAB in the beginning of the month, and the score is not updated on NSIPS yet. I contacted my CPPA, and two of them told me I have to contact whoever is responsible for the exams, to ask them to update it on NSIPS or give me a hard copy of the score. However, they do not know whom should I contact. Has anyone else had this problem before? Whom should I contact about it? My chief was able to help me schedule the exam through My Navy Portal, but she also has no idea what body or command are responsible for overseeing it. Thanks ?? submitted by /u/isaacF85 [visit reddit] [comment ..read more

Should we be concerned

I have family member in the military. They called and told us they failed a drug test and they might be separated. A few weeks later they called and said they had been demoted and put on restriction. A few week’s later they called again and said they were definitely being separated and their phone would be taken. That’s been several weeks since and no one has heard from them and their phone hasn’t been used since that call and they haven’t returned to their off base housing. Should we be worried? What kinds of things get you separated, restricted without access to your phone or able to leave ..read more

I go home tomorrow, and they're sending me back on delta (coach) I was just wondering if I'd still get one free checked bag, since I guess it's technically an order to go home, or if I'd have to pay for it. Thank y'all for any help! submitted by /u/Justadoott [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Currently an FMF corpsman been in almost 10 years, applying for MSCIPP (medical commission to public health) but if I don’t get it I might drop an HR officer in service procurement package. (my bachelors is a science and HR so I apparently qualify) currently doing some Career counselor stuff for my clinic nothing serious so I don’t know much but what’s the life like? Duty stations? How much say do you have in those “3 paths, talent management, pay etc” thanks dudes. submitted by /u/AutismAndRoids [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Boot Regulation

Hello All, I'm working on a proposal to the Uniform Matters Office in regards to our boots. We (Navy and Marines) are the only branches with specified boots authorized rather than a set of boot requirements. I'm trying to get some community feedback regarding your experiences with Navy authorized boots. Please respond to this post with your experiences! How do they hold up over time? What issues have you had with them? What is the average lifespan of a Navy authorized boot for you? submitted by /u/Kenobi3371 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

About to start PTDY leave (Navy) and still no DD-214.

Hi all. So I’m in a bit of rough spot right now. As the title states, I start my PTDY leave on the 26th and my medical retirement from the Navy is May 16th. I still don’t have my DD-214 in hand yet. I have called MNCC several times and they are trying to work my case I guess. I have tried calling TSC Norfolk and the phones just rang endlessly before finally getting disconnected. I tried going to my admin department (NMCSD) and they keep saying it will be emailed to me via DoD Safe. I’m not sure what else to do to be honest. I am desperate right now because I may have to quit my medication col ..read more

What are the negatives to separating due to self harm?

As the title says, what would be the negatives? I’ve had many depressing days just like everyone else, but once again my boat and division has decided to bend me over and I can see all the sign of another wave of shit coming along for myself. I’ve tried talking to people (including the ships psych who has done nothing but made my problems worse), and I’m ready to get out. Less than 2 years left so obviously I know the “stay in your almost done” and the “it’s not worth it” sayings, but now it is for me. I think of ways out of the navy everyday at this point. It’s fucking horrendous to even try ..read more

Royal Navy Exchange Program

Did anyone here ever participate in an exchange program with the Royal Navy or other allied Navy? Always wondered what the differences in culture were like on foreign vessels. We had New Zealanders on our ship for a deployment once, and I was astonished how differently they operated. Grooming standards stood out in particular: All of their petty officers had beards ranging from goatee to ZZ-Top. submitted by /u/throw_Away198723 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
