My two tours with Greek Balance Tours (in 2013 and 2016) were fantastic. I am a single, independent traveller who enjoyed this introduction to wonderful Greece immensely. The tour is uniquely structured and suits singles, couples and small groups equally. Like the local people we encountered on the tour, Peter was a generous, friendly and helpful host. He will organise as much (or as little) as you need him to. The tour is the perfect mix of ancient history and beautiful beaches and weather. You’ll tick off some of some big attractions and enjoy some quiet, local secrets. The tour inclu ..read more

The second time to Greece I was much older and my experience had a deeper impact. (I was 22 years of age.) At the time I was work ..read more

For example, the figures from 2015 gathered that 2.5 million people visited the Greek islands, and the percentage of Visitors from UK and Ireland increased by nearly 15% (source GNTO ) My question is ,who really benefits from the increase in tourism? Each year I visit Greece, the number of social media users has grown and travel agents now use online marketing to package their deals and source holiday makers from all around the globe. A growing number of travel agencies offer packages t ..read more

When is the best time to visit Greece?

Since 1994 I have been visiting the Greek islands at least once a year In these 20 + years I have experienced all the seasons, and have taken tour groups on different dates between May-September In my opinion the mid-end of June has been the most rewarding. Why? Tourism industry workers are fresh and excited. The taverns you visit are a little more hospitable, waiters seem to have more time to help you and tables are still available at popular eateries Ferry transportation is less crowded and you are able to get a seat, even to the popular islands Taxis are obtainable, and other forms of publi ..read more
